A computer is a helpful electronic machine. The software in the computer helps us to

do many things. Firstly, a computer can arrange information that we put into it. It can
store and process a lot of information. Secondly, it allows us to get information through
the internet. We can also send and receive information through the computer. Thirdly,
banks, hospitals, universities, schools, offices, factories and even petrol stations use
computers to get work done. It is therefore important to know how to use a computer.

Passage 2

Every Saturday morning there is a farmer’s market in Dungun. The market place is
a large empty field next to a school. From 7 a.m. farmers around Dungun bring their
vegetables and fruits to sell. There are also a few stalls selling cakes. Many housewives
buy their vegetables at this market because they are cheaper and fresher. Sometimes
even fish, meat and eggs are sold. By 11 a.m. most of the vegetables are sold. One by one
the farmers close their stalls and go home. The vegetables which are left are sold very
cheaply.
