INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Teenage Pregnancy is commonly heard happening to young people nowadays.

According to the survey last 2013, 16.5 Million are group of Filipinos in the age 15-24

years of age and 30% babies are born from that group. It is said that even before they

reach the age of 20, young girls are already a mother nursing newborn babies. (Luisita

B. Peralta, Author Deped ESP 2013) A lot of factors were considered why young

people enter the responsibility earlier than they supposed to. One of that is engaging to

Pornography. A lot of studies were already conducted about the effect of Pornography

to the mind especially to young people. Studies proved it has a negative effect. Causing

the young people to be more open to sexual activities and result to Teenage Pregnancy.

Statement of the Problem

1. The percentage of Teenage Pregnancy case in the Philippines continuously

increases every year.

2. The factors such as Pornography, Media, Peer Pressure and the so-called

Millennial Teenage Era contribute to Teenage Pregnancy.

Statement of Hypotheses

1. According to the survey conducted there is a continuous increase to Teenage

Pregnancy in the Philippines every year.

 2. Factors such as Pornography, Media, Peer Pressure and the so-called Millennial

Teenage Era contribute to Teenage Pregnancy.

Scope And Limitations of the Study

The study will cover the teenagers subject to early pregnancy. It only limits to the

random teenagers aged 15-24 of Roxas City, Capiz.

Significance of the Study

This study will help the following:

Teachers – The teachers will have a background on the existing case of Early Teenage

Pregnancy of our Society.

Students – The students will be knowledgeable and educated of the factors

contributing to Eearly Teenage Pregnancy.

Future Reasearcher – This will be a guide and of use by future researchers interested

in this area.

Definition of Terms

Teenage Pregnancy – The state of being pregnant at an early age from 15-24.

Pornography – Explicit depiction of graphics that display material of an erotic nature.

Media – Means of broadcasting of information.

Peer Pressure – Encouragement or influence of one’s peer.

Millenial Teenage Era – Teenagers born starting from 20th Century to present refer by

the social media nowadays.
