EI 2406 INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM DESIGN LABORATORY

Time: 3 hours Maximum marks: 100

1. Design an instrumentation amplifier with differential gain of 100 and draw the input Vs
output characteristics of the three operational amplifier based an instrumentation
amplifier. (100)

2. Design an instrumentation amplifier with differential gain of 100 and compare the
characteristics of instrumentation amplifier with commercial Monolithic instrumentation
amplifier. (100)

3. Design an active first order Butterworth type Low pass and high pass filter for fc=1kHz,
and determine the frequency response by conducting experiment. (100)


 
4. Design an active second order Butterworth type Low pass and high pass filter for
fc=1kHz, and determine the frequency response by conducting experiment. (100)

5. Design an active first order Butterworth type band pass filter for 1 KHz< fc 1<5 KHz, and
determine the frequency response by conducting experiment. (100)

6. Design an active Second order Butterworth type band pass filter for 1 KHz< fc 1<5 KHz,
and determine the frequency response by conducting experiment. (100)

7. Design a Regulated Power Supply for 5V output. Conduct an experiment to draw the
graph for line regulation. (100)

8. Design a Regulated Power Supply for 5V output. Conduct an experiment to draw the
graph for load regulation. (100)


 
9. Conduct an experiment to obtain the characteristics of V/I converter and plot output
current Vs input voltage. (100)

10. Conduct an experiment to obtain the characteristics of I/V converter and plot output
voltage Vs input current. (100)

11. Develop the circuit for reference junction compensation to thermocouple and observe the
output voltage by varying the cold – junction temperature. Also plot the output voltage
Vs cold-junction temperature. (100)

12. Develop the signal conditioning circuit to strain gauge and plot the output voltage Vs
load. (100)

13. Develop the signal conditioning circuit to RTD and plot the output voltage Vs
temperature. (100)


 
14. Design an Orifice Plate for the given specification and convert the electrical Signal to
differential pressure. (100)

15. Design an Orifice Plate for the given specification and calculate D/d and sizing factor by
conducting experiment. (100)

16. Design a Rotameter for given specification and measure the flow rate of the fluid. (100)

17. Design a control valve. Conduct an experiment and note down the stem moment value
and the flow rate by varying the inlet pressure. Draw the graph for pressure Vs flow rate.
(100)

19. Design an analog PID Controller for various values of Kp, Ki, Kd. Apply the error signal
from signal generator and draw the response from the CRO. (100)

20. Design a PID Controllers using Microprocessor. By giving error signal to ADC section of
Microprocessor note down the output response of PID Controller in the DAC Section of
Microprocessor. (100)
