GLOBAL ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION

4WPI-CWAC004
Piping Class Specification WAC004 Revision 4
May 2003

RESPONSIBLE GROUP: Mechanical Systems Engineering

Denotes Revision

Design Code ASME B31.3, Process Piping (See Note 3)

Materials Aluminum pipe, fittings, and flanges;

stainless steel assembly fittings

Corrosion Allowance 0 mm

Maximum Allowable Oxygen Purity 99.87 mol %

SERVICE: This specification may be used at the following pressure-temperature ratings:

Pressure Temperature Pressure Temperature

4.0 bar g -198° to +65°C 58 psig -325° to +150°F

UNITS OF MEASURE:

1. All pipe sizes are given in diameter nominal (DN) with nominal pipe size (NPS) in parentheses.

2. All dimensions are given in millimeters (mm) with inches (in) in parentheses.

PIPING NOTES:

1. This specification contains two sections. Section 1 contains material commonly used in countries
outside of Europe, and Section 2 contains material required to meet the requirements of the European
Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC for plants to be commissioned in the European
Community and those countries that have adopted the PED. Each section is comprehensive in scope
and meant to be used in its entirety. Combining portions of the individual sections is prohibited.

2. DN1050 (42) and DN1200 (48) full-size tees are engineered components. When they are required for
piping design, Mechanical Systems Engineering shall be contacted to determine availability for these
full-size tees.

3. ASME B31.3 applies to Section 1 piping and also to Section 2 piping except as modified by the
"Essential Safety Requirements" of the PED.

Authorization for this document is on file in the GEO Standards Department.
