Sub.: Revision of pay of scientists following revision of pay scales of Central

Government employees on recommendations of the VI CPC

Reference is invited to Council's letter No. 1(1)j2009-Per.IV dated 6 March,
2009 regarding revision of pay of scientists following revision of pay scales of Central
Government employees pursuant to VI CPC. The posts in the existing pay scale of
Rs. 16400-22400 have been placed in the pay band of Rs. 37400-67000 with a
stipulation that those recruited on or after 1.1.09 would receive minimum of Rs.
43000 + RGP of Rs. 10000. In partial modification of these instructions it has been
decided that minimum of Rs. 43000 would be admissible to those recruited directly
as per revised qualifications to be notified by ICAR separately. Those recruited on or
after 1.1.09 as per existing qualifications will be placed in pay band of Rs. 37400-
67000 (with a minimum pay of Rs. 39690) + RGP of Rs. 10000. The Annexure vide
para 2.2 of Council's letter No. 1(1)j2009-Per.IV dated 6th March, 2009 has been
revised accordingly and is annexed with this letter.
