Looking forward
to Spring
Hello team KidsCare!
I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe
we are rounding out the first quarter of
2018. March is here and I’m hoping cooler
weather comes with it. March usually brings
in the fun with the TSHA conference, and
this year is no different. Several KCHH’ers
will be representing our company in Houston
the first weekend of March at the biggest
speech event in Texas.

We generally have a great time and are able to hire the cream of the crop in
talent and new grads. It’ll be an exciting time in Houston! Which, speaking of
Houston, I have an exciting announcement to make: KidsCare is now a provider
for the Texas Children’s Health Plan! This is a huge accomplishment and I’m
thankful that through perseverance and dedication this contract has finally been
awarded.
So, are you all ready for the Spring? I hope so, lots to look forward to with St.
Patrick’s Day, Spring Break, Easter, warmer weather, etc. I hope you all have
had a great winter and are ready for some bluebonnets soon! Have a great
March!

Spotlight: Community Relations
Halley Lindsay
Waco

Earlier this week, KidsCare CR Halley

Lindsay teamed up with one of her speech
therapists, Staci, to attend the Dr. Seuss
Literacy Night event at the Bellmead Head
Start.

Halley has had a busy February, attending

many events like this one and the InKidable
Conference with The Children with Special
Needs Network this past Saturday. She
works closely with therapists in her area to
determine caseload needs, develop
relationships with physicians and their
clinics, and connect the kids that need
therapy with available KidsCare
Therapists.

Jennifer Vandeberg
Lead Occupational Therapist, North Austin

Jenny has been with KidsCare since 2013!

The two of us actually worked together in a
previous life! I’ve seen Jenny in action
many times and she is by far one of the
most talented OT’s around, and if you ever
have a client with behavior issues, call Jen.
She’s got it down! Not only that, Jenny
always goes above and beyond, and not just
for Team Austin, but for anyone who needs
help who’s from other areas of KCHH. This
team would not be the same without you
Jen!
Here is a little bit about Jenny in her own words:
“Being an OT I have an immense amount of job satisfaction almost every
day. I say almost every day because there are the occasional days of being
kicked, getting a bite to the arm, or being told “I hope a black widow bites
you and you can never come back.” I get home at night knowing I have
made a significant difference in someone's life. It's amazing sharing the little
joys of seeing a kiddo pulling up his/her pants without help, or kids trying
new foods and mom overjoyed that she can now cook new meals, for
example. I love being an OT!

Although I work hard, I also play hard. My other passion is traveling. It's an
amazing thing being my husband, Grant’s, co-pilot and flying to Colorado to
go on a jeep adventure, or taking a commercial flight to French Polynesia
just because we can! The world has some amazing places to explore and
we love those opportunities especially when we can get away from the Texas
heat!”
