I. Introduction

The basic foundation of a society is the common desire for peace and order
as love bounds all people. We are all given by God our free will and our
intelligence. We all have the power to think and decide on our own. With it comes
a huge responsibility and misuse of such will result to consequences.

Oppression is a misuse of these responsibility. The rising need to overrule over

mankind runs strong in the veins of those greedy for power. We all have our own
rights whether or not these are in the constitution or the basic laws of nature.
People of these drive is caused by them failing to consider the rights of all or even
acknowledging these rights yet continuing to ignore these. These results to these
are bloodshed.

The study of this highly negative social and political phenomenon and its
historical development is the key to creating ways and methods to combat,
control and prevent terrorism.
II. Body

We must know that we are given the gift to do things in our own will and
our gift of intelligent but we cannot truly be people of the society without the
guidance of God. Because once our judgement are clouded by the temptations
of this world, we are prone to evil tendencies. As stated in Proverbs 6:16-19, “There
are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a
lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked
schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”

The terrorist threat is now considered to be an everyday hazard. The risk of

death caused by terrorists has become an integral component. Such a
phenomenon was never as acute as now when it reached an extremely high
level of risk in recent years. The practice of terror from year to year is becoming
more sophisticated and cynical. In the last century, the main forms of attacks
were hostage taking and explosion in a public place. These forms of terrorism are
considered classic nowadays. The give way to destruction of residential and
office buildings and neighborhoods, chemical and biological attacks, cyber-
attacks and so on.

Entering the new millennium, humanity came face to face with the most
dangerous global challenge of terrorism. With each passing day, it is becoming
more widespread in the planetary scale. Terrorist methods practiced by many
extremist organizations around the world show that terrorism is an international
phenomenon. This contrast illustrates the problem that terrorism claims and
controversies have in today’s public discourse, and the need to establish a forum
for open discussion of questions that have such deep significance for public
policy, and the future shape of our civilization.

At the end of the day, we are all God’s children and that our life belongs
to Him. We should not turn away from each other, on our humanity and more so
we should not turn away from God. Matthew 5:44-48 states, “But I say to you, Love
your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of
your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the
good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love
you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not
even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly
Father is perfect."

The Lord challenges us that as one Body of the Church, we must stand firm
and defend our rights as humans. Spread mutual love and respect despite the
adversities and differences of life. As like all of the things we do, the desire to
change and the action to be done must start with ourselves. We must take one
step further and transcend to beat the percentages as we rise amongst the
difficulties in life with God by our side.
III. Closing Prayer

Almighty and Ever-Living God, all honor and glory is Yours. You are our
strength, our cornerstone. You are our home, our solace in the noisy confusion of
life. We thank you for everything you had done for each one of us.

Lord God, no one is a stranger to you and no one is ever far from your loving
care. In your kindness, watch over refugees and victims of war, those separated
from their loved ones, young people who are lost, and those who have left home
or who have run away from home. Bring them back safely to the place where
they long to be and help us always to show your kindness to strangers and to all
in need Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
