THE 18th ASIAN GAMES

Hello sport lovers....

Good afternoon and welcome to SportNow. I am Farrel Al Ghifari and this is
my partner Annisa Aulia will report some sport news from around the world.

Well we have some good news for sport lovers from Indonesia because this
year the 18th Asian games will be held in Jakarta and Palembang city.
Asian Games is pancontinental multi-sport event that held every four years
among athletes from all over Asia. The first Asian games was held in New Delhi,
India in the 1951, And this year the 18th Asian games will be held in Indonesia. This
is the second time for Indonesia to be the host nation of Asian Games since 1962.
This event will be held for 45 days, The opening ceremony will be hold on
18August and the closing will be held on 2 september 2018 in gelora bung karno
stadium Jakarta. The main host city for this event is Jakarta and Palembang, also
there are several city to suport it such as Lampung, West Java, and Banten. The
Govenment of Indonesia has been preparing several facilities for this event. Their
preparation has reached 90% for the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium renovation and
the Jaka Baring Sport City construction.

There are 41 sports that will be contested in this event. 33 sports is an

olimpic based sports such as Archery, Basketball, Football and many more. 8 sports
is for non-olimpic based sport. The Participantss of this year Asian games reached
45 countries from all over Asia that ready to compete each other for the title
“Champion of 18th Asian Games” .
