Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies

Beginning the Lesson
- The teacher will do a review of what we talked about last in class by asking students
10min questions of what they learnt the day before. Finding Elapsed time and we said elapsed
means passed so we will look at other problems that are a little different but are related to
Elapsed time.

Developing the Lesson

- Find the End Time Given the start Time and Elapsed Time: Have the students read the
10min problem on the power point together with you. After a party, Emily cleans her house. She starts
cleaning at 10:30P.M and finishes in 1 hour and 45min. What time did she finish cleaning the
house? Draw the timeline and guide students to find when she finished cleaning.
- Find the start time given the elapsed time and End time: Let students read the real world
problem. Brooke was painting a sign. She finished painting it at 3:00P.M. She took 1hour and
10min 50min to paint. When did she begin? Draw the timeline and guide students to find the start time.
