In the second trimester, keisha found taht she felt increasingly unable to cope with the physical

problems affecting her, in particularher back problems, tiredness and heartburn. despite
discussing these and the negative effect on her mood with her midwife, keisha did not feel that
she was being taken seriously. she brushed off and that she was seen to be making a fuss. this
seemed to be reinforced by her partner and her family.

After the birth, her incontinence concerned her, as did her back pain. her thinking became more
negative about herself, her ability to care for her baby and her relationship eith the partner.
