A. EMPLOYEE MOVEMENTS
Occur as result of employees’ PA, org. structuring or certain operational requirements. Ex. PSR
1. Promotion - The upward or vertical movement of employees in the organization from lower level jobs to
higher level.
2. Separation – termination of employment by the employee due to justifiable reasons or authorized causes by
the management. It can be voluntary or involuntary.
Voluntarily – Job resignation by the employee
Involuntary – Termination by the employer; retrench or lay off employees or close the establishment.
3. Retirement - Ending the employment of a regular personnel who reaches a retirement age.
½ month salary for every year of service.
4. Demotion - Compulsory reduction or downgrading of employee status/rank.
B. REWARDS
TYPES OF REWARDS
1. Extrinsic – Monetary or material rewards. Ex. Bonus, incentive, car plans, commission, etc.
2. Intrinsic - Nonmonetary rewards given to employees who performed well, ex. Recognition, awards.
