SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

 This chapter will provide the discussion of summary of findings, conclusion and

recommendation of the study for Voice Activated Home Automation System. The gained result

will be explained in an organized and simplified way.

Summary of Findings

Based from repeated trial and error of the prototype, the obtained findings are:

1. The response time to turn on or turn off the appliances is less than a second.

2. The maximum distance of the speaker to the module is approximately 10 meters

3. There’s no limitation for the number of appliances that can be control via Voice
Activated Home Automation System.

4. The user can activate and deactivate all the appliances at the same time or individually.

CONCLUSION

Based on findings, the researchers’ conclusions are:

1. The Voice Activated Home Automation system can energize and de-energize the

appliances through voice command which will ease the users especially some of

disabled person.

2. It helps in reducing human effort and errors and thus increasing the efficiency.

3. This project is safer because there is no need for physical contact to turn on or turn

off appliances and it is wireless, therefore it will reduce the possibility of electric

shock accidents.

4. Using smart phone as the sender of command to activate and deactivate appliances is

more practical since most of people have it and they always carry it with them.

5. Uncertainties exist in the voice recognition and wireless communication aspects of

the prototype due to noise and limited distance of transmitter and receiver

RECOMMENDATION

For further improvement of the Voice Activated Home Automation System, the researchers

would like to recommend additional ideas for future development which are:

1. This project can be more efficient by adding touch enabled feature.

2. Using of more powerful microphone can decrease the susceptibility due to noise.

Developing noise filter or noise handling algorithm may further improve the

performance.

3. Wireless communication is limited by the effective communication distance of the

transmitter and receiver, especially in the situation of a large house. Using more powerful

wireless module can improve the performance.

4. Solar powered Voice Activated Home Automation System and appliances can reduce the

electric bill amount.
