SINGAPORE — Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) recently bested some of Asia-Pacific’s

biggest multinationals when it received the FMCG and F&B Supply Chain Excellence
Award at the SCM Logistics Excellence Awards Gala Event. The annual gala gathers the
region’s supply chain experts in honor of the best practices in their field.
“We never see the Philippines get recognized in this kind of criteria. This time, we did.
JFC is very proud because this is also in recognition of Filipinos’ capability to excel in
this field,” JFC vice president for Corporate Supply Chain William Lorenzana Jr. said.
JFC was recognized for its leading strategies in reducing cost, optimizing lead times,
collaborating with suppliers and partners, and increasing customer satisfaction and
market share, and also for helping raise the supply chain and logistics standards in the
region.
Lorenzana credited the achievement to a three-year transformation strategy, working very
closely with JFC’s Store Operations, Information Technology (IT) and purchasing
groups.
By automating processes, streamlining tasks and the logistics network, forging
partnerships with third party logistics providers, and unifying forecast figures, JFC was
able to increase the efficiency levels in its commissaries, satellite commissaries and
distribution centers, helping them better serve the corporation’s 1,500 stores.
With the help of such efforts and innovations, JFC was able to generate savings and gain
efficiencies across the supply chain, amidst increasing raw material and energy costs.
