Warm-up: The teacher greets the students then asks if anybody is absent. (1 minute)
Activity 1
Aim: - to check the homework
-to check the previous knowledge
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss , Ss-T
Time: 9 minutes
Procedure: The teacher checks the homework and makes corrections if necessary.
The teacher checks the previous knowledge and asks them about the weather,the
seasons,the months of the year and to count to 20.
Materials: notebooks
Activity 2
Aim: - to identify the season after its description
-to understand the context of an article
-to read for specific information
-to skim the paragraph and say what it is about
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss, Ss-T
Time: 15 minutes
Procedure: The teacher writes the title of the lesson on the blackboard and tells the
students that today they learn the steps to make a composition about their favourite
season . Each S gets a worksheet and is asked to read the sentences aloud and identify
the season described. The teacher explains any unknown words.
The teacher asks the students to read silently Susan`s article from an international
teenager magazine about her favourite season .The teacher explains any unknown words
and asks them to read the statements aloud and to mark the sentences as true or false.
Then the teacher asks them to skim each paragraph and to say what each paragraph is
about.
Materials: worksheets
Activity 3
Aim: -to write the months in the correct season;
-to match the words to their meanings;
-to match the activities to the seasons;
-to make sentences about the activities/events during each season
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss, Ss-T
Time: 15 minutes
Procedure: The teacher asks the students to write the months that correspond to the
season.
The teacher asks them to match each word to its definition or synonym and then to find
the collocations.
The teacher gives the students some cards with seasonal activities/events and asks them
to go to a board and stick the cards to the corresponding season and then to write
sentences on the blackboard.(In winter I make snowmen.)

Activity 4
Aim: - to give feedback and homework
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Homework – The teacher gives as homework to make a composition with the title `My
favourite season`
