The purpose of this lesson is to let the grade 2 N/A
students grasp the main point of the story of Jonah
which is to obey God in all situation.

Guiding Questions Objectives (know/understand/do/value)


At the end of the lesson, students should be
 Does anybody know the man name Jonah in the able to:
Bible?  Obeying the commands is very important
 Who is he? Where does he from? especially from God, Parents and teachers.
 What is his job?  Understand that there are consequences when
 What happen to him? they disobey God command.
 What happen when we did not obey God?

Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies


10mins Beginning the Lesson
 Gather the students and then say good afternoon to students,
 Introduce myself to the students
 Ask the students: How are they doing today?
 Go over the classroom rules
 Say a prayer
 Review on what they have learned from the last class

30mins
Developing the Lesson
 Then ask the guiding questions
 Let the students answers the questions by raising their hands, if one student cannot
answer she can ask her/his friends for help.
 Ask one of two students to tell the story of Jonah (if they can).
 Teacher will retell the story of Jonah to the students by using the Fish booklet.
 While reading ask some questions to guide the students understanding.
 Hand out the worksheet and ask the students to do the words search and tell the students
that they can work with a friend (two people only in a group). If the students finished
before times, then hand out the maze worksheet to let them work quietly.
 Self-reflection: Hand out the Fish with Bible verses both on the outside and inside. Ask a
student to read the verse on the outside and then discuss with the students. Then after that
ask another student to read the verse in the inside and discuss.
5mins  As inside the Fish ask the students to fill in the Prayer.

Closing the Lesson

 Collect the worksheets and ask the students to go back to their seats and sit quietly
 Ask the students what have they learned today? What is main point in this lesson?
 Ask the students to give themselves a pad on the back and clap for themselves that they
did a good job.
