IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FULL INTESTINAL CLEANSING PARTICIPANTS

A. Please inform us if you have any medical conditions and on medication prescription,
especially intestinal ulcers & high blood pressure.

B. For ladies, this practice is not to be performed when pregnant or on the 1st – 3rd day of
menstruation .

FULL INTESTINAL CLEANSING CHECK LIST:

1. Eat plain and easy to digest meal on the eve of the full cleansing session

2. Dress comfortably for yoga asana (postures)

3. Things to buy for your special diet for 1 month:

a. Split mung dhal / kacang hijau (with no skin)

b. Polished white rice

c. Ghee (~RM13 medium tin, RM25 large tin based on QBB brand price -Brickfields shops)

4. To bring on the practical day:

a. Payment receipt / deposit slip (pass to instructor so that receipt can be issued)

b. Yoga Mat

c. Small pillow or cushion (optional for comfort while resting)

d. Light blanket / shawl / sarong (for cover to prevent chill while resting)

e. 4 to 5 liters drinking water

f. Neti pot (only for those who know how to do Jala Neti - optional)

g. A bowl & spoon for food at meal time

h. Food container / thermos enough to hold at least 5-6 bowls of rice

i. Change of underwear /panty liner (just in case..)

j. A pair of socks

5. To get the best results, please follow strictly on Day 1 & 2:

a. Leave your hand phone at home or switch off (strictly no calls or sms allowed

and you are advised to observe this for the rest of the day even after 2pm)

b. No talking / reading / external stimulation after completing full shankaprakshalana.


This is called “Mouna”. (External stimulation includes TV, radio, computer, electronic
games, hand phone, etc.)

c. Leave behind all your worries and responsibilities

d. Do not make any commitments/ appointments for that day and the following day

(you should feel that you have all the time in the world for yourself on these 2 days)

d. Follow all the instructions given to you through the whole session, as they are for a good

reason based on past experience

e. After 2 pm, go directly home and continue resting and eat according to instructions given

to you. Avoid mental strain, stressful situations and do only minimal activity

f. Take a shower before 5pm

g. Avoid exposure to the sun, wind and rain

h. Bear in mind that you are going through a process of complete rejuvenation and it’s like a

hibernation for your entire system (physical, mental, emotional)

i. On Day 2, continue rest with minimal activity. Only light work is permitted & preferably
no mental work (eg. Work from the office or work that requires thinking power)

6. You are advised to observe full vegetarian and saltless diet for 1 month.

No processed foods (canned food, chocolates, ice cream, soft drinks), spices, sauces, pickles,
food enhancers, fruits, dairy products (milk, cheese, butter, yoghurt, etc. except ghee), alcohol
should not be taken for this duration. Cigarettes, tea, coffee, any intoxicants or drug should
also not be taken. Diet should be pure, simple and as neutral as possible. For food, Kicheri is
highly recommended, and may also include rice, wheat, bread, vegetables with low acidity,
nuts, lentils, soya beans and other pulses.

7. After the period of observing special diet, slowly reintroduce your system back to normal diet
so that adjustment time is allowed.

Kicheri Recipe (makes 6-8 large servings)

Ingredients:

½ cup split mung dhal

1 ½ cup uncooked polished rice


½ cup ghee (clarified butter)

Method:

1. Rinse mung dhal and rice with water then soak for 10 minutes. Throw away the soaking water.

2. Add sufficient water to rice and mung in a large pot and bring to boil on a stove (medium heat) or
rice cooker

3. Stir occasionally to ensure kicheri does not burn at the bottom

4. Remove from heat when cooked to a consistency of very moist, soft, cooked

rice (thicker than rice porridge)

5. For each serving, stir in liberally 2 tablespoons ghee so that it appears glossy
