have access to this PDF.

Your role assignment.

Learn about both


available team roles.
Prepare: Data Entry: Create Profile
Enter your team's stock ticker symbol. This can be any
alphanumeric combination that is 4 characters in length.
This is how your instructor will identify your team.

Select your team's segment and strategy.

Name your team's strategy.

Describe your team's strategy.

Save your team's profile.


Prepare: Data Entry:
Select Objectives: Scorecard
Click the + to expand the Objectives
list under each perspective. Click
the – if you want to collapse it.
Check the box to select to each
desired Objective. The Scorecard
will populate with the Objective
name, Metric name, and Estimated
base value for each selected
objective.
To delete an objective from your
scorecard, click the X next to it.

You may select up to 20 objectives. Your objectives will copy over to the
Strategy Map tab (see next page).
NOTE: Control Teams will not have access to the Select Objective screens.
Prepare: Data Entry:
Select Objectives: Strategy Map
To draw a connection, click on an objective to select it, then
click on the objective to which you want it to relate.
Connections can go both ways. You can click and drag
objectives to move them around the map.

To save your Strategy Map and selected objectives, return to


the Scorecard tab, and click Save Objectives and Start Game.

NOTE: After saving and starting game, tell your team’s Data
Analyst(s) to log in or refresh their screen to see the Analyze tab.
Prepare: Data Analyst

Data Analysts will only be able to see the How


to Play screen until their team’s Data Entry role
creates the team profile and saves objectives.

Once your team’s objectives are saved, refresh


your screen to see updated data including:
• Objectives tab with access to the saved
Scorecard and Strategy Map
• Analyze tab
Decide: Data Entry
Data Entry roles will select initiatives for
their teams over 8 periods. For each 6-
month period, you will have a budget of
$25,000,000 to spend.

Click to expand each perspective and


check the box next to the desired
initiative.

You can delete a selected initiative by


clicking its .

Click Approve Budget & Advance to submit


decisions and advance to the next period.
Analyze: Metrics Dashboard
The Metrics Dashboard includes Financial
Statement data and Metric Graphs for
each selected objective. .
Click on a metric to update the graph.
Metrics that are not improving are
flagged.
Data Analysts can click the Refresh data
button to see updated data for each
period as the Data Entry role submits
investment decisions.
NOTE: Control Teams will not see Metric
Graphs. They only have access to
Financial Statement data.
Analyze: History
The History tab provides historical data for
each period. There are 3 available sub-
tabs:
• Financials
• Metrics
• Initiatives

NOTE: Control Teams will not have access to the


Metrics sub-tab.
Analyze: Graphs
The Graphs tab presents
graphical data for each period
for each selected metric.

NOTE: Control Teams will not have


access to the Graphs tab.
