CHAPTER I

I. Introduction and Background of the Study

What is a working student? Working student is a student who takes part-time job
during his or her free time. A working student is very different to a regular student. A
working student only focuses on both financial status and academics. While a regular
student only focuses on academics.
According to an experience, “A working student takes part-time job to graduate”.
This means that an experienced working student sacrificed a lot of time in taking a part
time job. This literally means that he or she has no free time to spare.
Colleges that lets students told part-time jobs while in school in order to subsidize
the cost of education. According to an experienced working student, being a working
student is not a thing to be ashamed of, because it shows that you can stand by yourself.
There are also struggles and perks of being a working student. But that doesn’t mean that
there are no advantages of being a working student. There are also advantages of it you'll
be able to put theory into practice while still continuing with your studies. You will work
in specialized areas that give you real insights into your subject and make a huge
contribution to your studies.

II. Statement of the Problem

The problem is how they manage their time between working and studying.
Because being a working student gives you no free time mostly. We want to know how
they manage their own precious time as a working student but that doesn’t mean we
will do an interview all working student here in the Philippines. There are many chosen
targets for this thesis at the chosen school (Bulacan State University). Our goal here is to
know how they manage their own precious time and use and share their answers to
other working students to help them manage their own precious time.
We intend to know the experience of being a working student. Not all students
know the experience of being a working student. We also want to use and share their
answers to all students to inform them how to understand the working student. This is
because not all students understands how a working student going through. You may
notice that most of the working students are not present most of the classes. Some
regular students judge their classmates for not being present and cooperating in school
projects while they don’t know that they are taking part time work.
III. Significance of the Problem
A lot of people will take benefit of this research.

Working students. This research will help them to graduate in a proper way and to
support their financial status with no worries. After they know themselves this research
can point out their mistakes to correct them.
Regular students and Teachers.
This research will help the regular students to understand their classmates who are
working students. This will avoid conflict and misunderstanding. This will help the
teachers to eeducate their working student. A teacher must look out for his or her
student.
Parents of working student. Of course, the parents knows that their sons or daughters
are working students. But that doesn’t mean they know the experience of being a
working student. This will help them understand their family members better. This
research will help them think of giving tips to their working sons and daughters for the
better future.

IV. Assumption of the Study

We intended to make this research to guide the working students. This research
will reach the school to make the decision of scholarship for the working students. This
will ease the working students to get rid their financial problems. The student will find
their solution in time management and other financial problems. Every working
students will have the advantage because of the teacher’s and the schools
acknowledgement of their hardships. We look for them to give their best like every
other regular students to make them all at the same level. The teachers and parents will
surely help the working student. The regular students will avoid conflict with the
working students.

V. Scope and Limitations

This study will focuses on the comparison of the regular and working students. We
are also focusing on helping the working student. We would interview our targets
personally with the prepared questions. Their answers our respected by ours. It will not
be changed for we our telling the truth.
We will not force the decisions of the working students. we only make this research to
help and decide on their own without worries when it comes to part time working and
studying.
