Condition Monitoring Society of India
Condition Monitoring Society of
India (CMSI) was established in 2003 with
an intention to promote and emphasize the
importance of condition monitoring among
professionals/ practicing engineers / plant
engineers by way of conducting
conferences and workshops from time to
time. The society also intends to be a
common platform for condition monitoring
professionals to share their experience and
expertise. The society publishes a
newsletter ‘MONITOR’ to keep members
abreast of the developments in the field.
The society has grown rapidly by setting up
local chapters at different locations all over
India.
As a part of CMSI’s endeavor to
bring out the growing importance and
recent trends in condition monitoring, a
two day National Conference on Condition
Monitoring (NCCM -2015) is being
organized in association with Naval Science
and Technological Laboratory, (NSTL),
DRDO Visakhapatnam during 25-26 Sept
2015. It is expected that a significant
number of experts/practicing engineers
from various organization, institutes and
industries will participate in this
conference.
The conference provides a common
platform for interaction on the state of the
art technology on condition monitoring
strategies. It provides an opportunity to
deliberate on latest trends in the field of
condition monitoring. This would
immensely benefit the maintenance
engineers, R&D professionals,
academicians and students.
In the past, CMSI conducted various
conferences and courses that include: 2 –
day National Conference (NCCM-2006)
during Dec 15-16, 2006, 4-day short term
course on Condition Based Maintenance
(CBM-07) during Nov 19-22, 2007, 2-day
National Conference on Condition
Monitoring (NCCM-2009) during Dec 4-5,
2009 and 2-day International Conference
on Condition Monitoring (ICCM-2011)
during Feb 24-25, 2011.
GITAM University and CMSI jointly
organized a 5-day course, sponsored by AICTE-
ISTE during Mar 16-20, 2009. NCCM 2012 was
organized at Pune during Jan 15-16, 2012. On
Mar 14, 2013, first student chapter of society was
launched. NCCM 2013 was organized at
Bangalore during Oct 4-5, 2013. NCCM 2014 was
organised at Chennai during 12-13 Dec 2014.
Apart from this, a number of workshops and
annual meets were organized by the society and
its local chapters. All these programs were very
well attended and appreciated.
Call for Papers
NCCM – 2015 invites papers related to
various disciplines on Condition Monitoring of
Machines & Structural Health Monitoring for
presentation at the conference. The papers
relevant to the topic with case studies are
expected to benefit the participants most. Papers
will be peer reviewed before accepting the final
camera ready manuscripts.

NSTL is a Centre of excellence for
• Design, development and testing of underwater weapons and associated systems
• Hydrodynamic studies of surface and sub-surface platforms and bodies
• Stealth technologies for naval platforms
The Laboratory carries out design, development and evaluation leading
to production and induction into services for light weight/heavy weight
torpedoes, mines and decoys. The Lab has established world class
Hydrodynamic Test Facilities for evolving design criteria through model
studies for surface and sub-surface Vehicles and Torpedoes. NSTL also
possesses capabilities for structural design and carries out research
on materials for mitigation of Radar, Infra Red, Magnetic, Acoustic,
Laser, Plasma and Extremely Low Frequency Emission signatures
leading to stealthy platforms.
Visakhapatnam City
Visakhapatnam (Vizag) is the largest city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Visakhapatnam is located 370 kilometres (230 mi)
north east of the proposed state capital & Amaravati and 701 kilometres (436 mi) of Hyderabad, the common capital of Andhra
Pradesh and Telangana. It is the administrative headquarters of Visakhapatnam district. Nestled between the Eastern Ghats mountain
range and the Bay of Bengal, the city occupies an area of 681.96 km2, making it the largest city in the state by area.
Visakhapatnam’s history stretches back to the 6th century BCE. Historically, it was considered part of the Kalinga region, and later
ruled by the Vengi kingdom, the Pallava and Eastern Ganga dynasties. After independence, Visakhapatnam developed into one of
the country’s chief ports and became the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. The city is often known
as The Jewel of the East Coast, The City of Destiny and the Goa of the East Coast. Visakhapatnam’s beaches (such as Ramakrishna
Mission Beach and Rushikonda), parks (such as Kailasagiri and VUDA Park), museums (such as the Kursura Submarine Museum and
Visakha Museum), and proximity to areas of natural beauty (such as the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary, Araku Valley, and Borra
Caves) have helped the city become a significant tourist destination.
