8. A fixed point F is 75 mm from a fixed straight line. Draw the locus of a point P moving in
such a way that its distance from the fixed straight line is 2/3 times its distance from F.
Name the curve. Draw normal and tangent at a point 6 cm from F

9. Construct a full size Vernier scale to read 1/8 inch 1/64 inch and mark on it lengths of 5 7/32
inch, 2 51/64 inch and 29/64 inch.

(B) A distance of 2 mm on a part of an instrument is to be represented by a line of 6 mm on
the drawing. Construct a scale and mark the distance of 38mm and 42 mm on it

11. The Marina beach at Chennai is 2.5 km long. On inspection of the road map, its equivalent
distance measures 5 cm. Draw a diagonal scale to read 50 m minimum. Mark on the scale a
distance of 6350 m.
