QUESTION 1

Write a story based on the pictures below. You may use the words given to help you. Write your story
in the space provided. Write between 80 to 100 words.

Suggested Answer:

Last Sunday, Nurain followed her parents to a Malay wedding. It was held in a community hall at
their village. The community hall was near the bride’s house. There were many people wearing
traditional costumes. Most of the ladies wear baju kurung and kebaya.

The bride and the bridegroom were seated on the wedding dais. Two women were using a
big hand fan to fan the wedding couple next to them. A lady was sprinkling rice water on the
couple.

All guests were seated at the tables. They were having lunch. Most of the guests were
taking food from the buffet table. It was a great wedding ceremony.

A day before Hari Raya Puasa, Nurul and her family went to visit their grandparents’ house. They lived
in the village and it took about three hours’ drive from their home in the city. When they arrived,
their grandparents welcomed them happily.

They helped to tidy up and decorate the place in the afternoon. When it was evening, Nurul
helped her mother and grandmother to cook some dishes for the Hari Raya celebration. They cooked
some rendang and ketupat.

On the next day, they woke up early for the Raya prayer. They were ready to greet and welcome
their guests and relatives. The dishes were served to all of the guests and they enjoyed it. During the
night, Nurul and her family members played some fireworks happily.
