The Plena Universal Amplifier is a mono mixer amplifier with 4 input channels. Each channel has 3 possible input
connections and a direct XLR output. You can adjust volume and tone level for each channel. The 4 input channels
and the cascade input are mixed to one master signal. This master signal is available on the XLR and DIN output
(mic. level). Additional outputs are the tape out and cascade out.
All pre-amplifier channels and the master output can be monitored with a headphone.

2.1 Priority mode setting

The priority mode can be set with jumper JP109 to serial or blocking mode. You can activate the mixing mode for
channel 1 to 4 with jumpers JP111 to JP114. The jumper JP110 enables or disables the priority override contact for
the 4 input channels. This contact is available on the Master Mic output to pass through priorities.
- Serial mode(default) : Channel 1 has the highest priority and channel 4 the lowest.
- Blocking mode : The first activated input channel has the highest priority and blocks all other channels.
- Mixing mode : The channel is mixed to the master output irrespective of priority.
2.2 Channel settings

2.2.1 Microphone or Line input
If you connect a microphone to an input channel, the switch (S101 to S104) must be in the Mic position. This setting
activates the Phantom power supply. If you connect a line level source the switch (S101 to S104) must be set in the
line position.
2.2.2Mic/Aux input selection

If you use the 5-pole DIN or the 3-pole XLR input of a channel, the corresponding jumper (JP102, JP104, JP106 or
JP108) must be in the MIC position. If you use the Cinch input the jumper must be in the AUX position.
2.2.3Speech filter on/off

Each channel has a speech filter that can be enabled or disabled with the corresponding jumper (JP101, JP103,
JP105, and JP107). The speech filter improves speech intelligibility by cutting off the lower frequencies.

2.3 Setting emergency, insertion or cascade

The functionality of the insertion/cascade/emergency input is determined with jumper JP301 and the 'Ins/Casc'
switch at the back of the unit.

If you use the emergency option, the emergency volume can be set with VR301. This volume is not affected

The universal pre-amplifier is delivered for table-top use, but you can mount it in a 19" rack. If you mount the
pre-amplifier in a rack, you must:
• use the mounting brackets delivered with the unit.
• remove the 4 feet from the bottom of the unit. (Without the feet the unit is 2U high).

4.1 Connect the DC supply (battery)

The Universal pre-amplifier has a 24 Vdc input (terminal screw), which you can use to connect a back up power
supply, e.g. batteries. You can earth the unit to increase the electrical stability of the system. The unit is protected
against reversal of the battery polarity.
Caution
The connection cable must have an in-line fuse. Use the type of fuse as mentioned in the illustration.

All channels have 3 possible inputs, use one of these inputs to connect a microphone or a line-level source. The
XLR and DIN input are balanced, the stereo Cinch input is unbalanced and converted to mono. If you use an input
make sure that the internal switch settings are correct (refer to §2.2).
Note
If you want to use the priority feature, you must use a microphone or line-level source with a priority contact
on pin 4 and 5 of the 5-pole DIN plug.

If you use the insertion or cascade mode, you must set the 'Ins/Casc' switch, on the rear, in the correct position.
The insertion mode can be used to connect an external sound-processing device, e.g. an equaliser. To increase the
number of input channels, you must use the cascade mode to link pre-amplifiers. E.g. with 2 pre-amplifiers, the
second preamplifier has 8 channels on its master output (4 channels from the first pre-amplifier and 4 channels of its
own).

The master output and/or the direct outputs can be connected to a Plena Booster to amplify the signal to
loudspeaker level. You can also use the outputs to connect the Universal pre-amplifier to the System pre-amplifier
or other equipment. The Master Mic output (DIN) has a priority relay contact on pin 4 and 5. This relay is activated
when a priority contact of one of the inputs is closed.

You can use this input for emergency announcements and/or signals. This line is activated when the signal is above
a certain threshold (VOX). When the line is activated it has the highest priority and overrules all input channels.
The emergency line has its own internal volume control and is not affected by the master volume. To set the
emergency volume, refer to §2.3. If you use the emergency input make sure that the internal settings are correct
(refer to §2.2).

You can adjust the volume, treble and bass for each channel by turning the corresponding knobs. To change the
overall volume you must turn the 'Master' volume knob.
5.2 Line monitoring

The line monitoring can be used to listen to a single channel or the master channel. To do so connect a headphone
at the front of the pre-amplifier. Use the 'Select' switch to select a channel.

The VU-meter always shows the volume for the selected channel.

L'Amplificateur Universel Plena est un mélangeur (mono) disposant de quatre canaux d'entrée. Chacun d'entre elles
est assortie de trois entrées possibles et d'une sortie XLR directe. Vous pouvez régler le volume et la tonalité de
chaque canal.
Les quatre canaux d'entrée et l'entrée en cascade sont mixées sur un signal principal disponible au niveau des sorties
XLR et DIN (micro). Il existe d'autres sorties notamment la sortie enregistrement et la sortie en "cascade".
Tous les canaux du préamplificateur et la sortie du signal principal peuvent être contrôlés par le biais d'un casque.

2.1 Configuration du mode priorité

Ce mode peut être configuré au moyen du cavalier JP109 sur série ou bloquant. Vous pouvez activer le mode
"mélange" pour les canaux 1-4 en utilisant les cavaliers JP111-JP114. Le cavalier JP110 permet d'activer ou de
désactiver le contact de priorité pour les quatre canaux d'entrée. Ce contact, situé au niveau de la sortie Micro
principal (Master Mic), permet de faire défiler les niveaux de priorité.
- Mode série (par défaut) : Le canal 1 dispose du niveau de priorité le plus élevé et le canal 4 du niveau de pri-
orité le plus bas.
- Mode bloquant : Le premier canal d'entrée activé dispose du niveau de priorité le plus élevé, bloquant
ainsi tous les autres canaux.
- Mode mixage : Le canal est mixé avec la sortie principale, et ce quel que soit le niveau de priorité.
2.2 Configuration des canaux

2.2.1 Entrée Micro ou Ligne
Si vous branchez un micro sur un canal d'entrée, le commutateur (S101-S104) doit être placé en position MIC. Cette
dernière active l'alimentation fantôme. Si vous branchez une source de niveau de ligne, le commutateur (S101-S104)
doit être en position Line.
2.2.2Sélection de l'entrée Mic/Aux

Si vous utilisez l'entrée 5 pôles DIN ou 3 pôles XLR d'un canal, le cavalier correspondant (JP102, JP104, JP106 ou
JP108) doit être placé en position MIC. Si vous optez pour l'entrée Cinch, le cavalier doit être en position AUX.

2.2.3Filtre vocal activé/désactivé

Chaque canal dispose d'un filtre vocal pouvant être activé ou désactivé au moyen du cavalier correspondant (JP101,
JP103, JP105 et JP107). Ce filtre améliore l'intelligibilité des discours en supprimant les fréquences les plus basses.
2.3 Configuration des fonctions d'urgence, d'insertion ou de mise en

4.1 Branchement de l'alimentation en courant continu (batterie)

Le préamplificateur universel dispose d'une entrée 24 Vcc (bornier) que vous pouvez utiliser pour brancher une
alimentation de secours (des batteries, par exemple). Vous pouvez en outre relier l'unité à la terre pour renforcer sa
stabilité électrique. Enfin, l'unité est protégée contre toute tentative d'inversion de la polarité des batteries.
Attention
Le câble de branchement doit être équipé d'un fusible en ligne que vous utiliserez tel que représenté dans
l'illustration.

Vous pouvez utiliser cette entrée pour les annonces et/ou les signaux urgents. Cette ligne est activée lorsque le
signal dépasse un certain seuil (VOX). Une fois la ligne activée, elle est prioritaire sur tous les autres canaux
d'entrée. La ligne d'urgence dispose de sa propre commande de contrôle du volume et n'est pas affectée par le
volume principal. Pour régler le volume de la ligne d'urgence, consultez §2.3. Lorsque vous utilisez la ligne
d'urgence, assurez-vous que les paramètres internes correspondants sont correctement définis (reportez-vous à §2.2).
Remarque
La ligne d'urgence dispose d'une sortie de relais de 24 V (bornier) activée par le mode VOX de l'entrée. Une
sortie 24 Vcc supplémentaire (bornier) est disponible pour alimenter les relais externes.

Vous pouvez régler le volume, les aigues et les graves pour chaque canal en tournant les molettes appropriées. Pour
modifier le volume global, vous devez utiliser la molette 'Master'.

Cette fonction peut être utilisée pour écouter un seul canal ou le canal principal. Pour ce faire, branchez un casque

Der Plena-Universal-Vorverstärker ist ein Mono-Mischverstärker mit 4 Eingangskanälen. Jeder Kanal verfügt über 3
mögliche Eingangsanschlüsse und einen direkten XLR-Ausgang. Sowohl Lautstärke als auch Klang können für
jeden Kanal separat eingestellt werden.
Die Eingangssignale der 4 Eingangskanäle und des Eingangs für die Kaskadenschaltung werden zu einem Master-
Signal gemischt. Dieses Master-Signal steht dann am XLR- und DIN-Ausgang (Mikrofonpegel) zur Verfügung.
Zusätzlich vorhandene Ausgänge sind der Tape-Ausgang und der Ausgang für die Kaskadenschaltung. Sämtliche
Vorverstärkerkanäle sowie der Master-Ausgang können über einen Kopfhörer abgehört werden.

2.1 Prioritätsmodus einstellen

Der Prioritätsmodus kann mit Jumper JP109 auf Prioritätsabstufung oder auf Kanalsperrung eingestellt werden. Mit
den Jumpern JP111 bis JP114 können Sie den Mischmodus für Kanal 1 bis 4 aktivieren. Mit Jumper JP110 wird der
Prioritätsstufen-übersteuerungskontakt für die 4 Eingangskanäle aktiviert oder deaktiviert. Dieser Kontakt befindet
sich zur übertragung der Prioritätsstufen am Master-Mikrofon-Ausgang.
- Prioritätsabstufung (Standardeinstellung) : Kanal 1 hat die höchste, Kanal 4 die niedrigste Priorität.
- Kanalsperrung : Der erste aktivierte Kanal hat die höchste Priorität. Alle übrigen
Kanäle werden gesperrt.
- Mischmodus : Der Kanal wird unabhängig von der Prioritätsstufe auf dem
Master-Ausgang gemischt.
2.2 Kanaleinstellungen
2.2.1 Mikrofon- oder Line-Eingang
Wenn Sie ein Mikrofon an einen Eingangskanal anschließen, muß der Schalter (S101 bis S104) auf Mikrofon stehen.
Durch diese Einstellung wird die Phantomspeisung aktiviert. Wenn Sie hingegen eine Line-Pegel-Signalquelle
anschließen, muß der Schalter (S101 bis S104) auf Line stehen.
2.2.2Mikrofon- bzw. Aux-Eingang auswählen

Wenn Sie den 5poligen DIN-Eingang oder den 3poligen XLR-Eingang eines Kanals verwenden, muß der
entsprechende Jumper (JP102, JP104, JP106 oder JP108) auf Mikrofon (MIC) stehen. Wenn Sie hingegen den
Cinch-Eingang verwenden, muß der Jumper auf AUX stehen.

2.2.3Sprachfilter ein- oder ausschalten

Jeder Kanal verfügt über einen Sprachfilter, der über den entsprechenden Jumper (JP101, JP103, JP105, bzw. JP107)
ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden kann. Der Sprachfilter verbessert die Sprachwiedergabequalität, da er niedrige
Frequenzen nicht passieren läßt.
2.3 Notsignalübertragung, Einschleifung oder Kaskadenschaltung

Die Funktion des Notsignal-/Einschleif-/Kaskaden-Eingangs kann mit Jumper JP301 und dem Einschleif-/
Kaskaden-Schalter auf der Rückseite des Geräts eingestellt werden.

4.1 Gleichstromversorgung (Akku-Anschluß) herstellen

Der Universal-Vorverstärker verfügt über einen 24 VDC Eingang (Schraubklemme), über den Sie ein externes
Stromversorgungsmodul (z. B. Akku) anschließen können. Durch Erdung des Geräts kann die elektrische Stabilität
des Systems verbessert werden. Das Gerät verfügt über einen Batteriepolumkehrschutz.
Achtung
Das Anschlußkabel muß mit einer Sicherung versehen sein. Der Sicherungsnennstrom ist der Abbildung zu
entnehmen.

Sämtliche Kanäle verfügen über 3 mögliche Eingänge. Verwenden Sie zum Anschluß eines Mikrofons oder einer
Line-Pegel-Signalquelle einen dieser Eingänge. Bei dem XLR- und DIN-Eingang handelt es sich um symmetrische
Eingänge. Der Stereo-Cinch-Eingang ist hingegen ein asymmetrischer Eingang, bei dem das Stereo-Signal in ein
Mono-Signal umgewandelt wird. Vergewissern Sie sich, daß der interne Schalter des verwendeten Eingangs korrekt
eingestellt ist (siehe §2.2).
Hinweis
Wenn Sie die Prioritätsfunktion nutzen möchten, so müssen Sie ein Mikrofon oder eine

Wenn Sie den Modus Einschleifung oder Kaskadenschaltung nutzen möchten, müssen Sie den Einschleif-/
Kaskaden-Schalter (Ins/Casc) auf der Rückseite des Geräts entsprechend einstellen. Im Einschleifmodus können Sie
ein externes Klangbearbeitungsgerät, z. B. einen Equalizer, an den Vorverstärker anschließen. Wenn Sie die Anzahl
der Eingangskanäle erhöhen möchten, müssen Sie den Modus Kaskadenschaltung aktivieren, um mehrere
Vorverstärker miteinander verbinden zu können. Auf diese Weise stehen zum Beispiel beim Einsatz von 2
Vorverstärkern am zweiten Verstärker 8 Kanäle am Master-Ausgang zur Verfügung (4 Kanäle des ersten
Vorverstärkers und 4 eigene Kanäle).

Lautsprecherpegel an einen Plena-Booster-Verstärker angeschlossen werden. Sie können über diese Ausgänge den
Universal-Vorverstärker auch an den System-Vorverstärker oder an andere Geräte anschließen. Der

Sie können diesen Eingang für Notrufdurchsagen und/oder Notsignale verwenden. Diese Leitung wird aktiviert,
wenn das Signal über einem bestimmten Schwellenwert liegt (VOX-Steuerung). Nach Aktivierung der Leitung hat
sie die höchste Prioritätsstufe und übersteuert alle Eingangskanäle. Die Notsignalleitung verfügt über eine eigene
interne Lautstärkenregelung, die unabhängig von der Master-Lautstärke ist. Hinweise zur Einstellung der
Notsignallautstärke finden Sie in §2.3. Vergewissern Sie sich bei Einsatz des Notsignaleingangs, daß die internen
Einstellungen korrekt vorgenommen wurden (siehe §2.2).
Hinweis
Der Notsignaleingang verfügt über einen 24 V Relais-Ausgang (Schraubklemme), der über das VOX-Signal
des Eingangs aktiviert wird. Ein zusätzlicher 24 VDC Ausgang (Schraubklemme) steht zur Stromversorgung
externer Relais zur Verfügung.

Sie haben die Möglichkeit, über die entsprechenden Drehknöpfe für jeden Kanal die Lautstärke, Höhen und Tiefen
einzustellen. Die Gesamtlautstärke können Sie mit dem Drehknopf für die Master-Lautstärke regeln.
5.2 Leitung abhören

Wenn Sie einen Kopfhörer an den entsprechenden Anschluß auf der Vorderseite des Geräts anschließen, können
Sie einen bestimmten Kanal oder den Master-Kanal abhören. Den gewünschten Kanal können Sie mit dem
Kanalwähler auswählen.
Hinweis
Das VU-Meter zeigt jeweils die Lautstärke des ausgewählten Kanals an.

El Amplificador Universal Plena es un amplificador de mezclas mono con 4 canales de entrada. Cada canal cuenta
con 3 posibles conexiones de entrada y una salida XLR directa. Puede ajustar el nivel de tono y de volumen de cada
canal. Los 4 canales de entrada y la entrada en cascada se mezclan en una señal principal. Esta señal principal está
disponible en la salida XLR y DIN (nivel del micrófono). Entre otras salidas se incluyen la de cinta y la salida en
cascada. Todos los canales del preamplificador y la salida principal se pueden controlar con auriculares.

2.1 Ajuste del modo de prioridad

El modo de prioridad se puede definir con el puente JP109 en el modo en serie o de bloqueo. Puede activar el
modo de mezcla para el canal 1 a 4 con los puentes JP111 a JP114. El puente JP110 activa o desactiva el contacto de
anulación de prioridad para los 4 canales de entrada. Este contacto está disponible en la salida de micrófono
principal para pasar a través de las prioridades.
- Modo en serie (predeterminado) : El canal 1 tiene la máxima prioridad y el canal 4 la mínima.
- Modo de bloqueo : El primer canal de entrada activado tiene la máxima prioridad y blo-
quea los demás canales.
- Modo de mezclas : El canal se mezcla con la salida principal, al margen de la prioridad.
2.2 Ajustes de canales

2.2.1 Entrada de línea o micrófono
Si conecta un micrófono a un canal de entrada, el conmutador (S101 a S104) debe encontrarse en la posición de
micrófono. Este ajuste activa la fuente de alimentación fantasma. Si conecta una fuente de nivel de línea, el
conmutador (S101 a S104) debe estar en la posición de línea.
2.2.2Selección de entrada Mic/Aux

Si utiliza el DIN de 5 polos o la entrada XLR de 3 polos de un canal, el puente correspondiente (JP102, JP104,
JP106 o JP108) debe encontrarse en la posición de micrófono. Si utiliza la entrada de control, el puente debe
encontrarse en la posición auxiliar.

2.2.3Encendido y apagado de filtros de voz

Cada canal cuenta con un filtro de voz que se puede activar o desactivar con el puente correspondiente (JP101,
JP103, JP105 y JP107). El filtro de voz mejora la inteligibilidad de voz cortando las frecuencias más bajas.
2.3 Ajuste de emergencia, inserción o en cascada

La funcionalidad de la entrada de inserción, en cascada o de emergencia se determina con el puente JP301 y el
conmutador 'Ins/Casc' de la parte posterior de la unidad.

4.1 Conexión de la alimentación de CC (batería)

El preamplificador universal cuenta con una entrada de 24 Vcc (tornillo de terminal), que se puede utilizar para
conectar una fuente de alimentación de reserva, por ejemplo, baterías. Puede conectar a tierra la unidad para
aumentar la estabilidad eléctrica del sistema. La unidad está protegida contra la inversión de la polaridad de la
batería.
Precaución
El cable de conexión debe contar con un fusible en línea. Utilice este tipo de fusible tal y como se menciona
en la ilustración.

Puede utilizar esta entrada para anuncios o señales de emergencia. Esta línea se activa cuando la señal se encuentra
por encima de un determinado umbral (VOX). Cuando la línea se activa tiene la máxima prioridad y anula todos
los canales de entrada. La línea de emergencia cuenta con su propio control de volumen interno y no le afecta el
volumen principal. Para ajustar el volumen de emergencia, consulte §2.3. Si utiliza la entrada de emergencia,
asegúrese de que los ajustes internos son correctos (consulte §2.2).
Nota
La entrada de emergencia cuenta con una salida de relé de 24 V (terminal de tornillo), que se activa en el

el volumen general, deberá girar el botón de volumen "Principal".
5.2 Control de la línea

Se puede utilizar el control de la línea para escuchar un único canal o el canal principal. Para ello, conecte los
auriculares en la parte frontal del preamplificador. Utilice el conmutador de selección para elegir un canal.
Nota
El indicador VU siempre muestra el volumen para el canal seleccionado.

De Universele Plena-versterker is een mono mengversterker met vier ingangen. Elk kanaal heeft drie verschillende
ingangsconnectoren en een XLR-uitgangsconnector. Het volume en de toonregeling zijn per kanaal instelbaar. De
vier ingangssignalen en de cascade-ingang worden tot een mastersignaal samengevoegd. Het mastersignaal is
beschikbaar op de XLR- en DIN-connector (mic.-niveau). De versterker heeft ook een tape-uitgang en een
cascadeuitgang. Alle kanalen van de voorversterker en de masteruitgang zijn af te luisteren met een hoofdtelefoon.

2.1 Prioriteitsmodus instellen

U kunt de prioriteitsmodus met behulp van jumper JP109 op serieel of geblokkeerd zetten. Met de jumpers JP111
t/m JP114 kunt u de mengfunctie voor de kanalen 1 t/m 4 instellen. Met jumper JP110 bepaalt u of de prioriteit
voor de vier ingangskanalen wordt geactiveerd of genegeerd. Dit prioriteitscontact is op de uitgang Master Mic
beschikbaar om de prioriteit door te geven.
- Serieel (standaardinstelling) : kanaal 1 heeft de hoogste prioriteit en kanaal 4 de laagste.
- Geblokkeerd : het als eerste geactiveerde ingangskanaal heeft de hoogste prioriteit en blok-
keert de andere kanalen.
- Mengen : het kanaal wordt ongeacht de prioriteit met het mastersignaal gemengd.
2.2 Kanalen instellen

2.2.1 Microfoon- of lijningang
Als u op een ingang een microfoon aansluit, dan moet de bijbehorende schakelaar (S101-S104) in de Mic-stand
staan. Deze stand activeert de fantoomvoeding. Als u op een ingang een lijnsignaal aansluit, dan moet de
bijbehorende schakelaar (S101-S104) in de Line-stand staan.
2.2.2Mic- of Aux-ingang kiezen

Als u de 5-polige DIN-connector of de 3-polige XLR-connector van een kanaal gebruikt, dan moet de bijbehorende
jumper (JP102, JP104, JP106 of JP108) in de MIC-stand staan. Als u de cinchconnector gebruikt, zet de jumper dan
in de AUX-stand.

2.2.3Spraakfilter aan/uit
Elk kanaal heeft een spraakfilter. U kunt dit filter met de bijbehorende jumper (JP101, JP103, JP105 en JP107) in- of
uitschakelen. Het spraakfilter verzwakt lagere frequenties, zodat spraak beter verstaanbaar is.
2.3 Insert, cascade of emergency instellen

De functie van de insert/cascade/emergency-ingang wordt bepaald met jumper JP301 en de 'Ins/Casc'-schakelaar
achter op de versterker.

Dit doet u als volgt:
• bevestig de reksteunen die bij de eenheid zijn geleverd,

4.1 DC-voeding (accu) aansluiten

De universele voorversterker heeft een aansluiting (met schroeven) voor een noodvoeding of accu's van 24 V DC.
De eenheid is beveiligd tegen omgekeerde polariteit bij het aansluiten van de voeding en u kunt de eenheid aarden
om de stabiliteit te verhogen.
Let op
De accukabel moet met een zekering zijn beveiligd. Gebruik alleen het in de afbeelding aangegeven type
zekering.

Elk kanaal heeft 3 ingangen. Gebruik één van die ingangen voor het aansluiten van een microfoon of van een
audioapparaat met een lijnuitgang. De XLR- en DIN-ingangen zijn symmetrisch, de stereo cinchingang is
asymmetrisch en wordt in een monosignaal omgezet. Controleer eerst of de interne schakelaars correct op de
gekozen ingang zijn ingesteld (zie §2.2).
Opmerking
Als u de prioriteitsfunctie wilt gebruiken, dan moet de aangesloten microfoon of geluidsbron met een
lijnuitgang het prioriteitssignaal op de pennen 4 en 5 van de 5-pens DIN-plug hebben.

Als u de modi insert of cascade wilt gebruiken, zet de schakelaar 'Ins/Casc' achter op de voorversterker dan in de
correcte stand. Met de insertmodus kunt u een extern systeem voor geluidsbewerking aansluiten, b.v. een equaliser.
Met de cascademodus kunt u voorversterkers in een keten doorlussen om het aantal ingangen te vergroten. Als u
bijvoorbeeld 2 voorversterkers onderling koppelt, dan heeft de masteruitgang van de tweede in totaal 8
ingangskanalen (4 per voorversterker).

Op de masteruitgang en/of de directe uitgangen kunt u een Plena Booster-versterker aansluiten om het signaal via
luidsprekers weer te geven. Via deze uitgangen kunt u de universele voorversterker ook op een System-
voorversterker of andere apparatuur aansluiten. De pennen 4 en 5 van de Master Mic-uitgang (DIN) zijn aan een
prioriteitsrelais gekoppeld. Dit relais wordt bekrachtigd als de prioriteitscontacten op een van de ingangen worden
gesloten.

U kunt deze emergencyfunctie gebruiken voor noodomroepen en/of noodsignalen. Deze ingang wordt geactiveerd
als de signaalsterkte een bepaalde drempel (VOX) overschrijdt. Na het activeren van de noodfunctie heeft het
kanaal de hoogste prioriteit en onderdrukt het alle andere signalen. Het emergencykanaal heeft intern een eigen
volumeregeling en wordt niet beÏnvloed door het ingestelde mastervolume. In §2.3 vindt u informatie over het
instellen van het volume. Controleer eerst of de interne schakelaars correct op de emergencyfunctie zijn ingesteld
(zie §2.2).
Opmerking
De emergencyingang heeft een relaisuitgang van 24 V (schroefaansluiting) die door het VOX-signaal op de
ingang wordt geactiveerd. De eenheid heeft ook een extra uitgang (schroefaansluiting) die een
voedingsspanning van 24 V DC aan externe relais kan leveren.

Elk kanaal heeft eigen regelaars voor volume, lage tonen en hoge tonen. Met de Master-volumeregelaar kunt u het
volume van het gemengde uitgangssignaal instellen.
5.2 Monitorfunctie
Met de monitorfunctie kunt u elk van de ingangskanalen of het mastersignaal controleren. Daarvoor sluit u op de
voorzijde van de voorversterker een hoofdtelefoon aan en kiest u met de 'Select'-schakelaar het gewenste kanaal.
Opmerking
De VU-meter toont altijd het volume van het gekozen kanaal.

L'Amplificatore Universale Plena è un amplificatore mixer mono con 4 canali in ingresso. Ciascun canale ha 3
possibili connessioni in ingresso ed un'uscita XLR diretta. E' possibile regolare il volume ed il livello dei toni di
ciascun canale. I 4 canali in ingresso e l'ingresso in cascata sono miscelati in un segnale principale o master. Questo
segnale è disponibile sulle uscite XLR e DIN (livello mic.). Come uscite supplementari sono disponibili l'uscita
nastro e in cascata. Tutti i canali del pre-amplificatore e l'uscita master possono essere monitorati mediante cuffie.

2.1 Impostazione modalità priorità

La modalità di priorità viene impostata mediante il jumper JP109, configurato su modalità seriale o di blocco. I
jumper JP111 to JP114 attivano la modalità mixing per i canali da 1 a 4. Il jumper JP110 abilita o disabilita il
contatto di prevaricazione della priorità per i 4 canali in ingresso. Questo contatto è disponibile sull'uscita Mic
principale, per prevaricare le priorità.
- Modalità seriale (predefinita) : Il canale 1 ha la priorità più elevata ed il canale 4 quella più bassa.
- Modalità blocco : Il primo canale in ingresso attivato ha la priorità pi~ alta e blocca tutti gli
altri canali.
- Modalità mixing : Il canale viene miscelato con l'uscita principale, indifferentemente dalla
priorità.
2.2 Impostazioni del canale

2.2.1 Ingresso microfono o di linea
Collegando un microfono al canale in ingresso, il selettore (da S101 a S104) va impostato in posizione Mic. Questa
impostazione attiva l'alimentazione fantasma. Collegando una sorgente livello di linea il selettore (da S101 a S104)
va impostato in posizione linea.
2.2.2Selezione ingresso Mic/Aux

Utilizzando l'ingresso DIN a 5-poli o XLR a 3-poli di un canale, il corrispondente jumper (JP102, JP104, JP106 o
JP108) deve essere configurato in posizione MIC. Utilizzando l'ingresso Cinch il jumper deve essere in posizione
AUX.

Per ciascun canale è disponibile un filtro vocale, abilitabile o disabilitabile mediante il corrispondente jumper
(JP101, JP103, JP105, e JP107). Il filtro vocale migliora l'intelligibilità del parlato tagliando le frequenze basse.

La funzione dell'ingresso inserzione/cascata/emergenza è determinata dal jumper JP301 e dal selettore 'Ins/Casc'

4.1 Connessione dell'alimentazione CC (batteria)

Il pre-amplificatore universale comprende un ingresso 24 Vcc (terminale a vite), utilizzabile per collegare un
alimentatore di back up, p.e. delle batterie. Per aumentare la stabilità del sistema è possibile collegare la terra
all'unità. L'unità comprende una protezione contro l'inavvertito scambio di polarità della batteria.
Cautela
Il cavo di collegamento deve essere provvisto di fusibile in linea. Utilizzare il tipo di fusibile specificato
nell'illustrazione.

Tutti i canali sono predisposti per accettare 3 ingressi differenti, utilizzare uno dei connettori per collegare un
microfono o una periferica livello di linea. Gli ingressi XLR e DIN sono bilanciati, l'ingresso Cinch stereo è non
bilanciato ed è convertito in mono. Prima di utilizzare un ingresso verificare che le impostazioni del selettore interno
siano corrette (fare riferimento a §2.2).
Nota
Per utilizzare la funzione di priorità, è necessario adottare un microfono od una sorgente livello di linea prov-
vista di contatto di priorità sui pin 4 e 5 dello spinotto DIN a 5-poli.

Per utilizzare la modalità inserzione o in cascata, è necessario impostare di conseguenza il selettore 'Ins/Casc' posto
sul retro dell'unità. La modalità inserzione può essere utilizzata per collegare un dispositivo di elaborazione audio
esterno, ad esempio un equalizzatore. Per incrementare il numero di canali in ingresso mediante il collegamento di
pre-amplificatori, va utilizzata la modalità in cascata. Ad esempio, con 2 pre-amplificatori, la seconda unità disporrà
di 8 canali sull'uscita principale (4 canali del primo amplificatore più i suoi 4 canali).

L'uscita principale e/o le uscite dirette possono essere collegate ad un Booster Plena per amplificare il segnale a
livello altoparlanti. E' anche possibile utilizzare le uscite per collegare il pre-amplificatore universale
all'amplificatore di sistema o ad altre attrezzature. L'uscita Mic principale (DIN) ha un contatto a relè di priorità sui
pin 4 e 5. Questo relè viene attivato quando viene chiuso un contatto di priorità di uno degli ingressi.

Questo ingresso può essere utilizzato per gli annunci e/o segnali di emergenza. La linea viene attivata quando il
segnale supera una data soglia (VOX). Quando la linea viene attivata, avrà assegnata la massima priorità,
prevaricando tutti i canali in ingresso. La linea di emergenza prevede un controllo di volume dedicato che non
viene influenzato dal volume principale. Per impostare il volume di emergenza, fare riferimento a §2.3. Prima di
utilizzare l'ingresso di emergenza verificare che le impostazioni interne siano corrette (fare riferimento a §2.2).
Nota
L'ingresso di emergenza ha un'uscita relè a 24 V (terminale a vite), che viene attivata sul VOX dell'ingresso.
E' disponibile una seconda uscita 24 Vcc (terminale a vite) per alimentare relè esterni.

5.1 Impostazione del volume, acuti e bassi dell'ingresso di linea

I livelli di volume, acuti e bassi di ciascun canale vengono impostati mediante le corrispondenti manopole. Per
modificare il volume generale utilizzare la manopola di volume principale 'Master'.
5.2 Monitoraggio di linea

Questa funzione consente l'ascolto di un particolare canale o del canale principale, collegando delle cuffie sul lato
anteriore del pre-amplificatore. Per selezionare un canale utilizzare il selettore 'Select'.
Nota
L'indicatore VU visualizza sempre il volume del canale selezionato.
