10.3 Uncontrolled movement test (if equipped with BODE overspeed governor)

Step Action Illustration/Note

1 With an empty car drive the car to any floor
level but the topmost floor.
2 Open the machine brake manually by
turning the lever.
3 Engaging the overspeed governor will open
the safety circuit switch and apply the rope
gripper.
4 Handwind the car downwards to release the
overspeed governor.
5 Set the valve to manual.
6 Use the hand pump to open the rope
gripper.
7 Hold the main brake open. Let the car
ascend to the next floor above.
8 Set the valve to automatic.
Ensure that the car, car roof and the shaft
are empty and secured
The anti-slide solenoid of BODE overspeed
governor will engage the overspeed
governor when the car is moving from
landing level from 90 to 250 mm.
The total movement of car from landing
should be within 900 mm.
The antislide solenoid must be locked open
with pin before moving the car.
See section ‘Adjustment of brake ready
microswitch and trigger mechanism’.
When reaching the door zone the anti-slide
solenoid of the overspeed governor closes
the safety circuit and allows normal
operation of the elevator.
The elevator should return to normal
operation.
Model 618 must be set by hand. See section
‘Overspeed test for ascending car’.
