Internet Outreach
The Firelands church web site was searched by 128
users during the month of January, 89% of whom were
new to our site. The most commonly viewed pages this
month were preschool/welcome, preschool/parents
handbook, sermons, contact us and about us. Viewers
spent an average of 1 minute 4 seconds. 53% of
visitors searched from desktop computers, 39% from
mobile devices, and 8% from tablets.

Back by popular demand…the Firelands Meditation
services have returned for this Lenten season. You are
invited and encouraged to spend some special time with
God in quiet meditation. No experience necessary. It is a
wonderful way to experience God in our beautiful
Sanctuary in the company of friends. Please join us.

Meeting January 10, 2018

1. Received Darrell Brand’s Treasurer’s Report
showing a YE2017 net gain of $15,989.74 in
General Fund Income & Expenses;
2. Approved a 2018 Budget of $146,000—an 8.1%
increase over 2017—thanks to the generous
support of our congregation; and,
3. Approved creating a new, portrait-filled church
directory commencing this spring.
Informal Cantors Needed
I would like to start an informal “cantor” program. The
purpose is to get a jump start on the day’s hymns and
responses. You would sing as usual from your seat, but
provide a little extra confidence to the congregation. If
we gather at about 10:10 that should give us time to
look them over. If the hymns are familiar, we wouldn’t
need to meet. If you are available and willing to help, it
would be appreciated! Thanks

food ministry that enjoys wide support from our entire
community. We are especially grateful to John and Kay
McIntosh, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary by
asking for donations to Bistro 163 in lieu of gifts.

YELP, Trip Advisor, Google, and Twitter) continue to
carry a 5 star rating. Here is just one example from
Annette: “Check out Bistro 163. It’s an interesting pay-
it-forward place to eat. People are encouraged to pay a
little more than the cost of the meal, to help others. A
person who can’t pay for a meal can work for an hour at
the bistro. I have been told that the trained chef is
excellent and they use as much local products as
possible. It’s a great idea and way to pay it forward.”
