Teachers may remove the cloth tapes one at a time as the student progresses. Regardless of age, students can focus their attention on breathing, beautiful tone production, and articulation (tonguing). ‘This system promotes 2 relaxed, efficient, free hand and thumb position from the beginning, With a strong foundation, students can develop the technical skills necessary to perform sophisticated musical repertoire with beautiful expression in the future. ‘When some beginning students play Volume One repertoire for the first time, they ean already use some of the suggested articulation after listening many times to the companion recording. However, itis suggested that beginning students use simpler, single articulation for many pieces. Gradually, polishing, work continues by using the suggested mixed and compound tonguing which is found wader the notation. In these volumes, T = Tu, D = Du, and R = Ru.
