SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

As of July 22, 2016, same-sex marriage is legally allowed of at least twenty-one countries around
the world includes The Netherlands, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France,
Iceland, Ireland, Finland, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Sweden,
Uruguay, United Kingdom and the United States of America (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/same-sex
marriage).
In the Philippines, Davao del Norte 1 st District representative, House Speaker Pantaleon D. Alvarez
recently in a news conference express his plan to file a House Bill in the 17 th Congress of the Republic
of the Philippines seeking to legalized “same-sex marriage” or the civil union of members of the LGBT
community in the Philippines. According to Alvarez, the bill would show respect the LGBT’s rights to
be happy and enjoy life.
I agree that everyone including the LGBTs have the right to be happy, but, same-sex marriage is
another point that I am strongly disagree. Our Creator established rules governing marriage long
before governments began regulating the institution. The opening book of the Bible tells us: “A man
will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.”
(Genesis 2:24) The Hebrew word “wife,” according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words,
“connotes one who is a female human being.” Jesus confirmed that those yoked together in marriage
should be “male and female.”—Matthew 19:4. Thus, God intended marriage to be a permanent,
intimate bond between a man and a woman. Men and women are designed to complement each other
so they may be capable of satisfying each other’s emotional and sexual needs and of providing
children.
Observe the animals around us who acts in instinct way have paired male and female. It shows
that it’s normal to be in union a man and a woman, however, worse as I say “abnormal” to be in same-
sex marriage. The Bible makes it clear that God designed sex to be engaged in only between a male
and a female and only within the arrangement of marriage. I don’t hate homosexuals or LGBTs, but I
can’t approve of their conduct.
In exercising our rights and free will has a limit and embodied to follow God’s standard our
Creator who knows best of what make us truly happy. God is in the best position to tells us what is
“RIGHT” and what is “WRONG”. Further, Bible states at Isaiah 48:17,18 says: “I, Jehovah, am your
God, the one teaching you to benefit yourself”... for you to experience real happiness... “if you would
pay attention to my commandments”.
