literature, world literature today is increasingly seen in global context.

 A body of work drawn from many nations and recognized as literature throughout the
world.

 writings in which expression and form, in connection with ideas of permanent and
universal interest, are characteristic or essential features, as poetry, novels, history, biography,
and essays.

2. Why do we need to study world lit?

 Studying world literature somehow teaches or give us an idea about the culture
of the place where the said literature came from. The study of literature also helps
students see the world - people, places, things, events, culture and beliefs through
different viewpoint. It also help us to understand and handle our future students even
though they came from different places.

3. How to appreciate the beauty of literature?

4. What are different techniques or approach to understand literature?

5. What are the forms of literatures name and identify each.

 Literature is divided into four forms namely nonfiction prose, fiction prose,
drama and poetry.
 Non-fiction prose in accordance with more facts described into words that
justify and explain it the most. Non-fiction prose does prose the point to an extent that
you do not need to make facts in order to write a meaningful story.

 Fiction prose is a form of language that exhibits a natural flow of speech and
grammatical structure rather than a rhythmic structure as in traditional poetry, where
the common unit of verse is based on meter or rhyme.

 Petry - this is often considered the oldest form of literature. Before writing was
invented, oral stories were commonly put into some sort of poetic form to make them
easier to remember and recite. Poetry today is usually written down, but is still
sometimes performed.

 Drama - Any text meant to be performed rather than read can be considered
drama (unless it’s a poem meant to be performed, of course) Drama is the one given the
least time in most classrooms. And often when drama is taught, it’s only read the same
way you might read a novel. Since dramas are meant to be acted out in front of an
audience, it’s hard to fully appreciate them when looking only at pages of text. Students
respond best to dramas, and grasp their mechanics more fully, when exposed to film or
theater versions or encouraged to read aloud or act out scenes during class.
