Superior Windows XP 64-bit (x64) 2009 February 16

A clean secure thoroughly tested AV/IT-expert's version

of Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. Built on

XP Professional x64 Edition retail SP2 English (United States,

NT 5.2.3790.3959) but including ALL other Languages and Keyboards.

With *corporate* Volume License Key inline, so this release passes

"Windows Genuine Advantage" checks, and a product key is NOT needed

(see \AMD64\WINNT.SIF on the iso). Have your own legal key?

If your CPU and motherboard support x64, then this might very well be

the FASTEST Desktop/Workstation OS you can find! It is UPDATED to general WoW64

standards of mid February 2009, with OFFICIAL Microsoft hotfixes and patches.

This Windows version is designed to work with 64-bit processors from AMD and

Intel that support the x64 extensions to the x86 architecture. These include

the Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, Mobile Athlon 64, Turion 64, Opteron processors

from AMD, and all Xeon, Pentium 4, Dual and Quad Core Intel CPU's with EM64T.

Read the rest of this text prior to installing so you already know what is

removed and what is added to this automated unattended OS install CD.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

Run the SXP64_2009feb16.exe file and it will ask for an empty CD (or DVD)!

( This .exe is actually a self-extracting 7zip-file, created using

CD-Selfburner http://boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4398 so

if you prefer having the .iso file, simply rename to .7z and unpack.. )

Set your BIOS to boot with the burned CD and (Quick)format storage partition.

(Don't use this CD to Repair or Upgrade existing copies of Windows.)

-> Don't take out your CD before installation is finished.

-> When installation is done change the Administrator password !

(A set password is used 18 times to automatically login...)

Although disk storage footprint after installation is only 1.62 GB

(minus pagefile), I recommend to use a partition of at least 20 GB to

be prepared for installation of Photoshop, SoundForge, Vegas Pro etc.

Memory footprint right after installation is 165 MB RAM, with

only 18 processes running. This includes DirectX alive & kicking !

Note that DirectX 10 for XP64 (plus a 9-10 Switcher tool)

plus IE6 plugins, extra smooth/safe with tweaks.

- Internet Explorer 6 (plus all security updates)

At first I included InternetExplorer 8, but decided it was moot,

since the product clearly isn't as good as Mozilla Firefox

and creates an entire new OS inside this OS. :-/

I simply don't know anyone who would really like that.

Download Firefox instead. Trust me, it's safer.

- JKDefrag64 (replaces the Disk Defragmentation tool from MS)

- ERUNT -> Auto-backups state of registry, this crucial tool in essence

replaces System Restore, and works a LOT better! Info on using ERUNT:

- PSPad -> Brilliant freeware Text Editor, replacing Notepad.

- PuTTy -> 64 bit SSH client, replacing telnet and hyperterminal.

This Windows x64 release is targeted for use with SSD

(NAND/Flash) types of storage; Indexing, Defragmenting

and many other disk-polling aspects are not recommended!

- Hibernate = disabled, but still usable.

- Stuff is set to CET and Euro usage, but can be changed.

Microsoft somehow assumes there aren't enough average users of the XP64

Operating System. It turns out, however, that a wide range of current-day

applications, like those for Audio- and Video- editing, encoding, mixing,

muxing, media-professionals and experts, BluRay/HD viewing and production,

as well as many scientific and no-nonsense apps in general, often perform

a LOT faster and more efficient in XP64 than they do in Vista or Windows 7.

lots of handy URLs to software you should try.

This SuperiorXP64 OS auto-logs on 18 times in total.

After that, you WILL need this:
