Activity Summary:
Students will be given questions about things that interest them. The answers are
sorted by colors in which they will see they have the most colors. Students will
discover a career cluster based on their interests.

Learning Activities (Include introduction to lesson, Activity(ies), resources


required,and Conclusion):

 Hand out Pre-Test


 Introduction to lesson:
o Talk about what is a career
o Why are we talking about this?
o Why is it important?
 Explain directions to students
 Pull up PowerPoint to start with interest questions:
o If you like……
 Playing with Legos…..go to blue
o What game do you play for fun…..
 Playing operation……go to red
 As questions are being read, the students will go to the colored station to
color a section of the tie on their paper.
 Once students have completed the 10 questions, they will stop to see what
color they have the most of on their tie.
 Discuss and define what a career cluster is
 Students will then go to that colored section and receive a paper with
careers based on their interest.
 Students will talk in small groups about what careers they are interested in.
 Students will take post-test.

Time needed for lesson: 30 minutes

 Impact will be shown through pretest and posttest.
2. Feedback on lesson
 Feedback on lesson will be done through pretest and posttest data.

Follow-Up Plan:
 Current school counselor will follow up with teacher to give additional
information/resources/worksheets.
