Conventional methods are unreliable

Leaks can reduce a well’s performance throughout its
life and cause serious health, safety and environmental
issues. With conventional leak-detection methods
reliability of diagnosis varies, as results can be affected
by both leak-rate and location. Low-rate or multiple
leaks and leaks beyond the primary tubular are
particularly challenging.

LeakPoint is able to reveal leaks in
the primary tubular and surrounding
casings or completion equipment.
Unlike conventional methods,
LeakPoint detection technology is
sensitive to a very wide range of leak
rates, from 0.02 to 5,000 litres/minute.
Results are clear and unambiguous
– leak locations are revealed with
pinpoint accuracy. And more complex
leaks in the A, B or C annuli can be
diagnosed, even while a well is flowing.
LeakPoint surveys provide the reliable
data needed by operators to select,
with confidence, the most effective
remedial intervention to restore the

past five years, LeakPoint has located
leaks in over 90% of wells surveyed.

LeakPoint
As an addition to the LeakPoint family, LeakPoint XT
offers an extended operating temperature range. By
repackaging the sensor and electronics assemblies in
a thermally shielding pressure housing LeakPoint XT is
capable of continuous operation at temperatures up to
180 degrees Celsius, while delivering the same precision
resolution and sensitivity as LeakPoint.
