Fake News Essay

Fake News has always been a bad thing in our society. Posting fake news should lead to a

big consequence, like getting banned for 6 months. No matter what or where you posted the fake

news, that consequence should be granted every time. Spreading false information effects not

only yourself but the person or organization you are spreading the fake news about, it’s an

infinite loop and it always comes back to you so don’t do it or face the consequences that will

happen.

Each time someone spreads fake news they try to hide their appearance and hide who

they are, to stop that, any account from that specific device should be banned from the internet

for 6 months. Doing this should make them think about what they did as well as think about not

doing it again because if they do, they will have no internet again for a long time. Also, if the 6

months is over and that person can get back on the internet, there should be a person from a high

class organization that should be watching over them and see what type of sites that person goes

onto. Everyone should feel safe on the internet but with fake news spreading so quickly around

the world or even around your community, you don’t feel safe and that’s why we need to have

these consequences for those people spreading the fake news.

Another bad thing about fake news is the fact that other people are affected just because

someone else made the fake news about that specific person. For example, the football player

that was accused of using drugs, was getting hate and bad reviews even though it wasn’t true.

Yes drugs is a very bad thing and for it being associated with a famous person is bad but you

should really dig deep and really try to find evidence to back up why you think that claim is

correct. Most people might know it was fake and they shouldn’t have to worry about it but the

people that don’t and are making it worse are making it so the football player is getting more
hate. People think that you shouldn’t have consequences because fake news isn’t a big thing,

news flash, it is a huge problem and so many innocent people can be affected because of social

media.

Not only are people affected by fake news, companies and organizations are also being

affected and hurt. The sales will drop for that company or organization and it won’t sell as much

and that is a huge problem for the people that work there and the people that run the finances

there. For example, the stock price for apple went down a lot because of fake news, that is a huge

company and because of the name and fame it has, fake news was believed because they are so

popular. Yes it eventually rose back up to its normal stock but the fact that it dropped and the

people working there were very worried, it was not worth it because without the fake news

happening, nothing bad would happen like this.

In conclusion, fake news is a huge problem and it needs to be stopped one way or

another. That is why if you make fake news and publish it on a website where everyone can see,

you should banned from the internet for 6 months and should be monitored after that 6 months is

up. Always try to detect fake news and always try not to believe or spread something unless you

have real evidence and real facts to support it.
