Introduction

The organization can create a competitive advantage only by mastering the


management of human resource. In this report we will identify ways in which HR and
Learning and Development activities support an organization to meet its goals.

The main activities includes are HR planning for future, procurement of right kind and
no. of people ,Proper utilization of human resources, determination of adequate
compensation of employees, ensuring the growth and welfare services to the
employees, achieving group goals etc. In this report it will be explained that how HR and
L&D plays an important role for achieving the organization objectives. As well as how it
supports line manager and employees to achieve their objective.

Agenda- The executive directors of Xavient Information system are proposing to


relocate to a more central location in the UK. How HR will support this relocation.

Human Resource Management affects the future of the organization . IT involves


procedures and practices through which human resource are organized and directed
towards the attainment of the individual social and organizational goals. The activities
which help the organization to achieve its goals are many and diverse. Executive
directors are proposing to relocate the office location to more central location of UK ,
which will definitely bring HR into role as it plays a very important role in the
organization success. Few activities are explained and reflect how it helps to achieve
the organization goals.

1- Recruitment/Staffing Objective- Human resource is highly concerned in recruiting


right people , so that they can fulfill organization needs. It involves designing the
organization structure and identifying what type of employee will work . HR ensures that
only best and talented employee are recruit and retained. With Xavient the recruitment
is a very crucial aspect, getting skilled people and retaining them is a difficult task , with
relocation the HR need to make newly recruited candidates understand the reason
behind relocation and how it will help them to overcome any difficult situation.

2- Performance and Reward Objective- Once the required work force is in place, the HR
ensures that they are motivated and dedicated. In order to maximize their performance,
HR uses many motivational techniques such as promotion , money reward, increments.
HR boost up the employees performance by initiating many employee engagement
activities. Beside this HR and L&D together also train employees to improve their
performance. One can say that motivation is behind good performance, hence to keep
employees motivated even in relocation HR should encourage some free talks, and
showcase how relocating will benefit the business and staff in times to come.

3- Training and Development- Human Resource with Learning and development


professional creates training programs to strengthen the quality of work within the
organization. Enhancing employee skills can increase organization performance. The
role of L&D includes identifying training needs, creating training manuals/templates
,facilitating instruction and ensuring that the training objective have been met. This
activity of HR will support the relocation in many ways. Arranging proper training
session for Line management in order to deal with issues which will be surfaced once

the company is relocated, could prove to be great help to line managers in their decision
making.

Hence it can be said HR by keeping its policy intact both internally and externally can
help the organization to achieve success and goals

HRM and L&D supports line managers and employees in many ways during relocation
of the organization , they ensures that employee understand the customer needs, and
goals of the organization could be achieved by clear communication with employees as
well as managers. Succession planning and Career planning are another ways through
which HR supports line managers and employees . Let us take few examples that how
HR and L&D activities support employees and Line managers in Relocation.
Being in HR the things needs to be done while relocating are -

1- Be Transparent- Transparency is the prime importance when it comes to relocation .


It's a highly related to welfare of staff. For e.g. by clearly communication with line
management either though emails/ website or personal mention the reason for moving,
changes to employee contract etc. By this the Line management would be able to pass
the message more clearly to rest of the staff. Keeping Line management informed
throughout every stage of relocation process and open to any ideas coming from them
that might be implemented in the new office. Give training on the change management
to line managers so as to handle the snagging issues that crop up once the company
has moved to new location .

2- Holding employee Forum - It will provide the great platform for employees as well as
line management to ask questions on various issues such employment contract , legal
advice etc. It gives HR also a chance to clear the air from confusion and negativity.
Moreover it gives feedback on the company culture, working practice. This can be done
visa organization social platform on intranet.HR could also delegate a separate team
which will only deals with the queries related to relocation . Apart from that for any legal
matters HR will consult the legal agencies so that the employees could get best and
right information about their employee contract. HR also could also arrange for separate
transportation team for answering all the queries related to help employees who will
have problems regarding their commute to new location.

3- Showcase the Company's brand - It is important that employees feel enthused about
their new premises. Telling the employees about the new office with its infrastructure
and new build technology will help employees to buy in . HR can have section on the
company website about the new office location and design progress showing what
addition have been put into the new premises and why it is beneficial for us. Apart from
showcasing the company's infrastructure , HR could highlights some business related

advantage which company will incur if it moves to new location, such as close proximity
with existing client which will decrease the commuting expenditure in client visit.
Highlight other's big tech companies which are there and there are chances of business
expansion by growing network with those companies. How this will not only benefit the
organization but also employees as it will bring more work and less expenditure.

HR always plays an important role in every decision of the organization. Whether it's a
decision of relocation , merger or acquisition . HR always make a way to run the
process smoothly and efficiently so that any organization can achieve its goals without
any difficulties and we can say Human resource effects the future of an organization .
