St. Vincent High School holds Javelin meet results

second ever javelin meet in the state

It was so successful they
decided to do it again. St.
Vincent High School held
what possibly could be the
second ever javelin meet in
Missouri on Wednesday.
The meet featured 76
throwers from eight schools.
Perryville took seventh and
St. Vincent finishing tenth.
Saxony finished eighth.
The throwers were given
a total of three throws a
piece and their longest
throw was scored. Top ten
finishes were considered
medalists in the meet.
Park Hills won the meet
with a total of 18 points.
Eric Roth of Perryville
was third with his throw of
134 feet, 3 inches.
Zachary Morgan of Per-
ryville, was 18th with 98-
11, while Adrian Johnson
threw 85-3.5.
For Saxony, Macy
Morehead led the way with
a throw of 92-6. Clara Yo-
keley also finished in the
top-10 with a throw of 79-
11, good enough for eighth
place. Elliot Johnson came
in 29th with a throw of 81-
6.5
Layne Johnson led St.
Vincent, finishing seventh
in the boys division with a
throw of 128-6.

Perryville boys finish

seventh at Simpson Relays
The Pirate athletes established many personal-best
times at the Simpson Relays in Farmington.

The Perryville track
team tried its hand against
some of the bigger area
schools when it travelled
to the Simpson Relays at
Farmington High School.
The Perryville boys fin-
ished seventh place with
Republic Monitor/Justin Hotop

That was the begin-
ning of some good finishes
for the Pirate relay teams.

by Joel Daugherty.
Simpson went 3-3 from
the plate, while Trent Un-
terriener went 1 for 3 with
a double.
Steffens hopes the win
can lead to more offensive
output from his team.
“It’s all about confidence
for us right now,” Steffens
said. “We want to put good
swings on the ball and
hopefully today is a move
in the right direction.”
The Pirates will play at
Notre Dame on Wednesday
at 4:30 p.m.
