You will require a CAS in order to apply for a Tier 4 student visa. To enable the
University to consider issuing you with a CAS we require the following documents if
you have not already provided them:
We will only issue the CAS six months prior to the start of your course as it is only
valid for this period of time and you cannot apply for a student visa (Tier 4) more
than three months before the start date of your course.
There is a compulsory charge that all applicants coming to the UK for more than 6
months will need to pay as part of their visa application. It is called the Immigration
Health Surcharge (IHS) and it will allow you to access health services facilities whilst
in the UK.
If we issue you a CAS we will send you some important information about how to
make this payment and further information can be found on the UKVI website:
https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/overview.
The University is required to provide UKVI with the date of your expected
enrolment. It is a condition of your visa that you comply with this. Further details
will be included on your CAS.
The University encourages timely arrival to ensure that candidates do not miss
induction and teaching, giving them the best opportunities for success. We
therefore encourage all students to arrive at the beginning of Welcome Week. For
2018/19, Welcome Week will be held week commencing 17 September 2018.
If, for any reason, you cannot arrive by 5 October 2018, please contact us as soon
as possible at latearrival@bradford.ac.uk. Arrival after this date will only be
approved where we are able to ensure that support can be put in place to ensure
that you can catch up with the induction and teaching material you will have
missed. We will therefore work with your Faculty to identify how you can best be
supported. Where we are not able to put this support in place, we may be able to
defer your place to the next academic session. Please note that the University
cannot support late arrival after 26 October 2018 due to the extent of teaching
missed.
As part of its Tier 4 sponsorship duties the University of Bradford will need to see
your ORIGINAL academic and English language qualification certificates and
passport. Failure to provide these will mean that you cannot enrol and that your
student visa may therefore be revoked.
Fee assessment
The fees shown on the offer letter have been determined on the basis of non-EU fee
status. If you believe you are eligible to pay fees at the rate applicable to an EU
student, please visit https://www.bradford.ac.uk/fees-and-financial-support/tuition-
fees/fee-assessment/ to download the fee assessment questionnaire.
Self-funding students
Online Payments
The easiest and quickest way to make a payment to the University is to use one of
our secure online payment facilities as your payment will show immediately on your
account enabling us to confirm receipt quickly for issuing your CAS.
If you are paying in sterling (GBP), please use our ePay facility:
https://epay.bradford.ac.uk/epay/).
If you wish to pay in any other currency please use Western Union GlobalPay:
https://student.globalpay.wu.com/geo-buyer/bradford.
Please note that payment by bank transfer can take longer to reach the University's
account and may delay issuing your CAS. If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please
contact our Accounts Receivable team for details (telephone: +44 1274 233135 or
email: hub-finance@bradford.ac.uk).
The advance payment requirement is only intended for self-funding students. If you
provide an acceptable letter of sponsorship, this payment is not required and we
will consider issuing a CAS to enable you to apply for a visa. Please note that the
sponsorship letter must be acceptable to the University otherwise the advance
payment will be required. The letter must be on headed paper and signed by an
authorised officer and contain your full name and course details, the amount or
percentage payable to the University and the contact name and address for the
invoice to be sent to. Students sponsored by a member of their family are treated
as self-funding.
At enrolment you will be required to make an additional payment to make the total
amount paid up to 50% of your tuition fee. The remaining balance must be paid by
either direct debit from a UK bank account or by debit or credit card using the
University’s secure online payment facility. Payments can be made by either two
instalments on 28 January 2019 and 28 March 2019 or four instalments on the 28th
of each month from December 2018 to March 2019.
Please note that no early payment discount is available where tuition fees are paid
by instalments.
Further information about paying your tuition fees can be found on our website:
http://www.brad.ac.uk/fees-and-financial-support/tuition-fees/paying-your-fees/.
If you make a payment in advance towards your tuition fees but do not then enrol
on your course, you will normally be refunded the payment made minus a £200
administration fee. If you wish to withdraw your application and request a refund,
please email admissions@bradford.ac.uk. For full details of the University’s
Composite Fee Liability Policy, please see https://www.brad.ac.uk/about/strategies-
