BABY BUNNY SHOWER SET

Becky McFeeters - rsm11000@aol.com

Yarns: All are “3” weight and I used a 5 hook on the blanket,
2.5 hook on bunny
Main blanket – Loops and Threads Snuggly Wuggly Sport in color
Doodles and Dots. I used every inch of this 10.5 oz skein and ran
out for the last several inches of edging and substituted white…it is
not noticeable but was too close!

Blanket Edging , Bunny dress– Lion Brand Ice Cream in Strawberry
Bunny head – Loops and Threads Snuggly Wuggly White
Blanket Pattern: Moderngracedesign -

blanket-free-pattern.html?m=1
I made the blanket about 1.5 x the size of her pattern…about 30”
I love this pattern – it is so simple!
Bunny Pattern: There was none, but this is close
Head-
Round 1: magic ring, sc 6 = [6]
Round 2: inc x 6 = [12]
Round 3: (sc 1, inc) x 6 = [18]
Round 4: (sc 2, inc) x 6 = [24]
Round 5: (sc 3, inc) x 6 = [30]
Round 6: sc 1, inc, (sc 4, inc) x 5, sc 3 = [36]
Round 7: (sc 5, inc) x 6 = [42]
Rounds 8-14: sc in each stitch = [42]
Round 15: (sc 5, dec) x 6 = [36]
Rd 16: sc 1, dec, (sc 4, dec) x 5, sc 3 = (30)
Rd 17: (sc 3, dec) x 6 = (24)
Rd 18: (sc 2, dec) x 6 = (18)
Rd 19: (sc 1, dec) x 6 = (12)
Tie off, leaving longish tail.
I put the eyes at row 14 and the nose at row 15, but I might use 13
and 14 if doing it again. For the eye I used yarn and did a single
diagonal stitch on either side of eye, leaving one stitch open
between them, then came back and did the single stitch between
the two diagonals to fill in the lower part of the eyelid. There are 7
stitches between the eyes.
Body-

Rd 19: sc in each stitch = (24)
Rd 20: (sc 2, dec) x 6 = (18)
Rd 21: sc in each stitch = (18)
Rd 22: (sc 1, dec) x 6 = (12)
Rd 23: sc in each stitch = (12)
Rd 24: hdc in each stitch = (12) (this gives me a heavier ring to
attach to head which seems more secure and less gappy to me and
a little decorative at the collar)
Tie off leaving long tail to attach to head.

At rd 13, add skirt. Work with bottom of bunny facing up, starting
at the back. Add 1 rd of sc using flo. Add 1 rd of scallop using
edging pattern from blanket. ( Sc,sk,5dc,sk) all the way around. If
there are any extra open stitches use sc to close gap. I added a rd
of single crochet as an edging. Tie off and leave a tail of several
inches.
Ears:
Rd 1: magic ring, sc 6 = (6)
Rd 2: inc x 6 = (12)
Rd 3: (sc 1, inc) x 6 = (18)
Rd 4: (sc 2, inc) x 6 = (24)
Rd 5-6: sc in each stitch = (24)
Rd 7: (sc 10, dec) x 2 = (22)
Rd 8: sc in each stitch = (22)
Rd 9: (sc 9, dec) x 2 = (20)
Rd 10: sc in each stitch = (20)
Rd 11: (sc 8, dec) x 2 = (18)
Rd 12: sc in each stitch = (18)
Rd 13: (sc 7,dec) x 2 = (16)
Rd 14: sc in each stitch = (16)
Rd 15: (sc 6,dec) x 2 = (14)
Rd 16-18: sc in each stitch = (14)
Rd 19 (sc 5,dec) x 2 = (12)
Rd 20-22 sc in each stich (12)
Rd 23: Flatten top and stitch over to close opening.

I attached to head about row 8 or 9 but would probably place

higher if doing the pattern again. I put a little pink powdered
blusher on the inside of the ears to add a hint of pink.

Finish: I brought the tails from the head and neck through the
body and knotted them with the skirt tail under the back of the skirt.
Then I pulled each tail through the body to the bottom of the bunny
and cut them off there.
