(Organization Management and Leadership in P.E. and Sports Program)

ARIEL A. CANONIGO February 02, 2018

MAEd P.E

1. Choose two philosophies of your life and how do you use in your profession;
especially in leading and administering your group and department?

In connection with my teaching career, I always into participatory

leadership. As participant of the school, I am always after with the school’s
goodness sake. I always make it to the point that my presence during weekdays
contributes to the progress of our school be it governance, access, quality. While
during weekends, learning is never ending for professional growth. In the access
side, I should be involved in the enrollment process and students selection
committee. In the governance, I give 100 percent of my supports in the school
Senior High School offerings. While in the quality, I made sure to myself that I am
academically inclined. I want to produce the best quality of students to graduate
in our school. Thus, I won’t be tired to participate in any school activities or
program, to learn more and to be productive at the end of the day.
I am also into morale transformation leader, which is governed by attitude
and values formation. I always emphasized to my students that attitude is vital in
the real field of work. Skills and Knowledge cannot suffice without good values. In
my work place, I always respect my elder colleague, I also establish rapport to
my co-teachers and non-teachers, I have to ask sorry if I make a mistake and
somehow communicate to everybody.
What is most important is to evaluate yourself of where you are now and
what are the things to get done.
2. Define the nature of administration of physical education in your work place and
how does the management of your office work as far as the management of
functions is concerned?

. I was appointed to be the school sports coordinator. Its been a year now
that my management in physical education has been put into test As a
coordinator, it is my nature to coordinate with our Mapeh coordinator, co-mapeh
teachers, dance troupe, school marching bands, oversee the school sports
program, the school’s sports facility and equipment, making a training design for
new sports, as well as to the clinic in-charge for the health status of learners.
Above all, our objective is to instill in the hearts and minds of the students the
significance of Physical education into one’s mental, physical, social, emotional,
and spiritual well-being.

As far as management is concerned, our principal is very supportive on

MAPEH programs/activities. I looked her up in her management skills. Most of
the time I copy her managerial skill. Everything we would do should start with a
plan, and then we have to organize activities relative to occasions. Next,
assigned people to be an in-charge, so that, we can easily point out to if we have
concern. We use technology now like facebook messenger to keep in touch and
for monitoring purposes.

More importantly, I know that there is the need for further research on our
Physical Education management.

3. Cite at least two theories, define each and how would you use this theories in
managing human resources in Physical education?

Everyone learns differently. The theory of multiple intelligences by Dr.

Howard Gardner, It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on
I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different
intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and
adults. These intelligences are: Linguistic intelligence (“word smart”), Logical-
mathematical intelligence (“number/reasoning smart”), Spatial intelligence
(“picture smart”), Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence (“body smart”), Musical
intelligence (“music smart”), Interpersonal intelligence (“people smart”),
Intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”), Naturalist intelligence (“nature smart”)

As sport manager it is our role to manage needed human resources in order to

put the plan into action. However, I must be guided by this theory of Dr. Gardner, which
not all teachers are gifted with body smart or coaching, they may excel in communication
and linkages with other people, they might be good in numbers, or they might be good in
speaking. Their unique knowledge and abilities are of used in different aspects of the
P.E program.
4. Cite at least two scenarios in your work place (Physical Education Dept.) on how
the financial management work? Give at least two options that you can help and
possible improve….

No athelitic program would be complete without attention being given to the method of
financing competition.
Our school has this athletic funds were each student is to be collected with 30 pesos for
1 year., all expenses incurred in school intramurals and in higher competitions will be
taken from this resources. If we will organize sports intramurals we will estimate budget
and submit proposals to the principal. Once approve the school treasure will issue
amount and record it.
It hard to put ourselves embarrassed when it comes to money matters. As much as
possible present all receipts with proper liquidation and open to public scrutiny any time.

Items to buy and to be purchased following the procurement form and the need of the
equipment. With the canvass form we need to secure the quality of the product to buy.
Once the fund if available the principal would give the go signal for me to buy. Once it is
already bought. It will go first to the property custodian to be recorder and ready to
release.

5. Given the opportunity to become a physical education administrator in your work

place, what would be the three scenario that you think needs planning, leading,
organizing, controlling or staffing..
in the classroom instruction definitely requires planning, leading, organizing, controlling
and staffing.

Engaging sports program, really requires planning, leading, organizing, controlling and
staffing.

Beauty Pageant in our school really requires planning, leading, organizing, controlling
and staffing.

6. Buddha Teaching; cite a scenario to give a concrete example. 3-4 Paragraph

I was constantly worried about what people thought of me and frequently

questioned my actions and worth. That people have always negative to say
about my strategies,
When this occurs I have to them with jokes, but sometimes it remained in my
mind the questions, do I have to change for them? Sometimes, I would agree
to budda teaching that I wont believe to the outside forces especially
questioning my teaching strategies and style. Such as organizing a basketball
league, mangrove planting project, coastal clean-up and feeding programs.
As long as it is in-line with the competencies I am confident in my abilty that
these activities promote wide knowledge of the students to real-life situation.
