I arise today Through the strength of Christ's birth and His I summon today all these powers between me baptism, and evil, Through the strength of His crucifixion and His Against every cruel merciless power that burial, opposes my body and soul, Through the strength of His resurrection and His Against incantations of false prophets, ascension, Against black laws of pagandom, Through the strength of His descent for the Against false laws of heretics, judgment of doom. Against craft of idolatry, Against spells of women and smiths and I arise today wizards, Through the strength of the love of cherubim, Against every knowledge that corrupts man's In obedience of angels, body and soul. In service of archangels, Christ shield me today In the hope of resurrection to meet with Against poison, against burning, reward, Against drowning, against wounding, In the prayers of patriarchs, So that reward may come to me in abundance. In preachings of the apostles, In faiths of confessors, Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind In innocence of virgins, me, In deeds of righteous men. Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, I arise today Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Through the strength of heaven; Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Light of the sun, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of Splendor of fire, me, Speed of lightning, Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of Swiftness of the wind, me, Depth of the sea, Christ in the eye that sees me, Stability of the earth, Christ in the ear that hears me.
