STRUCTURAL COMMENTS FOR THE JALAN BANI BU ALI HOSPITAL - ICU CCU
REVISED CALCULATIONS AND DRAWINGS

1. ITEM A : STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS

PLEASE INCLUDE IN THE FINALIZED STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS FOR FINAL APPROVAL AS PER THE
MINOR COMMENTS ON THE DRAWING SHEETS

 Column at the intersection of Grids F and 1 in dwg S2001 , tagged as C6 , is not found in the
Schedule of Columns in Dwg S 2005. Kindly verify .

 Flexible sheet between R.C. Wall and Column C3 was meant to be tagged from Foundation up to
Roof , and therefore needs to be mentioned in dwgs S 2001 , S 2002 , S 2003 and S 2004

 Verify if Footing F8 is indeed not used in the Foundation Plan ( we recommend to tag it as NOT
USED in the Footing Schedule in dwg S 2005 )

 As per our last meeting , the curtailed bottom reinforcement as tabulated in the Schedule of Roof
Beams ( Dwg S 2006 ) for Beam B6 stipulated still remains uncorrected in your submittal .
Please verify and correct if indeed required.

 STAAD calculations for Plinth PB1 on STAAD p. 31 showed 1423.6 mm2 at supports corresponding
to 4Y25mm as Top Rebars on ONE LAYER .

However , in the Schedule of Plinth Beam in Dwg S 2006 , Plinth Beam PB1 only showed 3Y20 Top
Reinft. Overspan on ONE LAYER ( 940mm2 ONLY ) with 2Y16 ( 402 mm2) bars as Continues
Support bars.

We suggest for you to use 25mm bars for this Plinth Beam PB1 as per your calculations.

 Kindly verify the adequacy the flexural reinforcements of Plinth Beam PB5 for the worst case ,
say along Grid H , between Grids 6 and 8 , along with ALL of its placements in the Plinth Framing.

We suggest for you to use 25mm bars for this beam also as per your calculations.

 WE REMIND YOU TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR FRAMING PLANS AGAINST YOUR SCHEDULES OF
DIMENSIONS & REINFORCEMENTS BEAM BY BEAM / COLUMN BY COLUMN , TO ENSURE THE
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF YOUR DESIGN.
 2. ITEM B : STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS

NOTE :
The structural calculations is APPROVED with minor comments – approved on principle , that the
Consultant have complied with structural design and constructions parameters of Ministry of Health

 Verify the Column Designation of the Column tagged as C1 ( column dimensions does not match
with drawings )

The following MINOR INCLUSIONS had already been complied with in your report
 Grade of concrete to be C40 , not M40 ( we use British Standard ) - ok !
 Please include in the Table of Load Combinations ( page 3 ) - the Load Combinations whicn
involves wind and seismic load cases , both for Service Limits State ( For Foundation ) and
Ultimate Limit state ( for Reinforced Concrete Design ) – ok !
 Please include in your STAAD calculations , the output results for the following :
o Slab S3 ( which carries the chillers ) – ok !
o Plinth Beam PB1 – ok !
