For that matter, lot us quote here Hazrat Bulleh Shah. He was a
Sufi poet of Kasur (Punjab-Pak). His 250th anniversary took place in
the year 2007. His body could not be buried for seven days in the city
where he lived his entire life as it was dominated by fanatics who did
not like his poetry which challenged them as the custodian of Islam.
One of his couplets said that you could not come near God by merely
going to Makkah or by taking dips in the holy Ganges. You have to
shed prejudice and hatred from your heart if you wanted to be near the
Almighty.
In 1997 he was selected as “Man of the Year” by the American Biographical Institute,
Washington D.C., USA; based on his Outstanding Accomplishments.
In 1992 his biographical note was included in “Reference Asia”, Asia’s Who’s Who of
Men & Women of Achievement”, New Delhi, India.
As a practicing construction and consulting engineer, the author has served in Pakistan
and Libya. As a teacher he has served in the University of Mosul, Iraq. He retired as
Professor / Dean, Faculty of Architecture & Planning, Mehran University of
Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro.
