Continuing Judicial Education
The Judicial Training Center applies a continuing judicial
education in which judges and court staff undergo
trainings and education during their career time in the
court
The CJE system ensures updated skills and knowledges
with the constant demands of legal professions.
Within CJE, the Certification System sits as an advance
education for judges with at least 10 years of experience or
term of duties. This is to ensure that prior to Certification
Training, the judges have received standardized legal
trainings for their day to day tasks as judges
Current Judiciary Training Program organized by
the Indonesian Supreme Court Training Center
Certified Environmental Judges
Indonesian Judiciary does not adopt a special
environmental law chamber, but rather makes an
effort to equip their judges with skills, knowledges
along with passion and integrity in judging
environmental cases or environmental related cases.
These judges can come from general jurisdiction
responsible for civil and criminal trials and state
administrative judges responsible for administrative
cases such as licensing and other government
regulations

Objectives of Certification System
After successful certification training, it is expected that the
Certified Judges will have advanced skills in receiving, examining
and rendering decision for environmental cases with
environment vision GREENING THE BENCH, by:
‐ Demonstrating deep knowledge and comprehension on national
norms and international law principles;
‐ Applying such norms and laws in the whole process;
‐ Discover law (rechtsvinding) to establish environmental justice,
in the absence of law.
‐ Applying the Environmental Case Bench Book during whole
proceeding
‐ Shows integrity as environmental judge
