Happy solving!
1. Twitter has taken the world by storm. Gone are the days where you would have to wait an entire day to
find out what covfefe the leaders of the free world are upto. It has also left a profound impact on online
marketing and public relations. Thereby, your first task is as follows:

Come up with an ingenious trend-worthy Social Media hash tag for the following news events:

● ‘The Trump Train comes to an End’ - Donald Trump, Mike Pence and Paul Ryan have been convicted for
colluding with China to turn the 2016 Presidential Election in favor of the Republicans.

● ‘Progressive Politics’ - Vrahul Podi - Union Minister of Minority Affairs & Women and Child
Development has come out as homosexual, becoming the first Indian Politician to do so.

● ‘AL(L)S well that ends well’ - Tremendous awareness that was brought by the ALS Ice Bucket
Challenge has resulted in the development of a drug which reduces 99% of neuron degeneration
caused by Lou Gehrig’s disease.

2. The year is 1858. Jhansi under Rani Lakshmi Bai’s rule which was at peace suddenly has to weather an
upcoming storm brought about by the British Army. A squadron of the 8th Hussars under Captain Hugh
Rose is fast approaching towards the 7000 Indian soldiers under the command of the Rani of Jhansi. The
news of the attack has caught the Queen and her army off guard, with the chances of the Indian Army
making it through the battle looking slim. However, the Jhansi ki Rani is not someone to go down without a
fight. She expects the same from her army and wants them to fight behind her to protect their integrity and
sovereignty till death.

The news of the sudden invasion makes its way to the Indian soldiers and a feeling of fear and sense of
chaos is now running across the base camp. Some of the soldiers are not too keen on fighting behind the
Queen since they are aware they will face certain death. The prevailing perception of the inadequacy and
incapability of female leaders has further demotivated the soldiers.

You are one of the Queen’s trusted captains and have displayed brave leadership skills with the army in the
past. You have been made in charge of communicating the Queen’s statement to the soldiers and
motivating them for the impending invasion.

Prepare an oration of not more than 300 words to motivate the soldiers to fight and rally behind the Queen
with fully integrity and patriotism including all of the following words: Rifle, Throne, Stoic, Burma, Napoleon,
Moksha.

3. ‘Surrogate advertising is a form of marketing which is used in the promotion of banned products in the disguise
of another product. This type of advertising uses similar products to hammer the brand name into the heads of the
consumers. The banned product is not projected directly to the consumers but is masked under the guise of
another product under the same brand name’.

For example: Alcohol Brands utilise Music CD’s as a substitute to advertise their products on television.

The government has passed an amendment overturning CTN Bill of 2000 and COPTA Act of 2003, allowing
companies to advertise and market alcohol and cigarettes.

You are the marketing manager of Swag Inc. a company which manufactures and distributes alcohol and
nicotine related products.

Suggest an advertising strategy to market your products.

Provide at the minimum three ideas/campaigns you would implement.

4. As India progresses from the conservative joint household system to modern nuclear families, babysitting
is one need which has not yet been answered in the Indian context. ‘WeGotBaby’ is a British based start-up
which is looking to expand its services to the Indian market. The CEO of the company has entrusted you with
the responsibility of estimating the market size.

Assess the scope and magnitude of the babysitting industry in terms of the number of contracts* available
or executable for a period of one year within the National Capital Region (Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon and
Noida). State all assumptions made and the methodology followed.

*A contract in this context implies the creation of a legal agreement between the parents and the agency -
WeGotBaby for providing babysitting services with respect to one child who does not exceed the age of twelve.

5. The life of a PR manager is never stagnant, from curating innovative campaigns to damage control. Your
last task will thrust you into the shoes of a personal relations manager, at one of the most perilous times to
be one - during a PR Crisis.

“Looks like somebody's not the Virgin he made himself out to be" - reads the Sunday edition of the Wall Street
Journal.

Four women have come forward accusing the Pope Malcolm – current pope of the Catholic Church of
maintaining sexual relations and manipulating them under the pretence of ‘Sexual Healing’. Two women also
allege that The Holy See is the father of their children and have moved the International Criminal Court at the
Hague seeking support and maintenance compensation.

The news has sparked outrage among the followers who are furious at the Papacy and want the Pope to
step down as Supreme Pontiff of the Catholics with immediate effect. Followers have started shaming the
Pope on social media with #WhosYourPopeey trending among the interwebs.

Furthermore, in an online poll 70% of the followers demanded the Pope to step down with 15% of them
accusing him of being a rapist. Nearly 40% of trustees of the Papacy have threatened to withdraw their
donations to the office due to the outrage and dissatisfaction among the masses.

You are the PR Manager for the Head of the Catholic Church.

How would you resolve the situation?

Provide at the minimum three steps you would take to bring back the confidence of the public and the
trustees.
