Attention:
Please read this Read Me file and the terms and Conditions carefully before you install and run the MEPA
OMD 41 software!

Copy Right and Licence:

The SICK AG claims copyright protection for this software. The entitled person may use this program only
for the intended purpose and may neither copy it nor transmit it to another party. For installation it is allowed
to run one MEPA OMD 41 program on one single computer. Installling and using the MEPA OMD 41
program the user demonstrates the acceptance of the terms and conditions proclaimed in the separate file
“terms and conditions”.

Use:
The MEPA OMD 41 program serves for parameter setting and data indication on the OMD 41 Dust
Concentration Monitor. It is based on Windows and was testet for the following releases:
• Windows 95 with DCOM95
• Windows 98
• Windows 2000
• Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 4 or higher, Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
• Windows ME
• Windows XP

Note: In case of Internet Explorer 6.0 IE Service Pack 1. is required.

Requirement:
Please note that the OMD 41 device software revision has the change index I540. This software revision
was delivered since the serial no. 98338006. In order to run this MEPA program on OMD 41 monitors with
older device software revisions please contact our technical support or the SICK service for updates.

Installation:
• If the OMD 41 MEPA version V.1.06 is already installed please remove this program first for example:
via settings/control panel/add/remove programs
• Insert CD with OMD 41 MEPA version 2.09
• Perform setup and follow the instructions.
• Select Setup Type (program with OPC server or without OPC server (standard))
• Was MEPA with version2.09 already installed select:
– Modify (add new program components),
– Repair (re-install all components) or
– Remove (all installed components) and follow the instructions.

Notes:
If already files of this MEPA program on your computer exists, for a new installation procedure or update
please select between the setup types Modify, Repair or Remove.
• Remove means that all existing data accordng to this MEPA program will be erased. Afterwards it is
simply possible to re-install the program completely with the setup procedure.
• Modify means that you can select either the standard MEPA installation procedure or the OPC
installation procedure.
• Repair means a new installation procedure, possibly changed data may be overwritten.
OPC server:
The new MEPA program package contains additionally an OPC server software. This software enables a
remote operation of the OMD 41 monitor with the MEPA program. The MEPA user with OPC can get access
via a network to the OMD 41, which is connected to this server – for example from the office or a control
room. See the online help texts for detailed information.
