**EOC DATES HAVE CHANGED!!** - Due to receiving scores back from the state
prior to graduation, we have to move the Spring EOC testing dates back one
full week. Testing will begin on April 23 and end on May 4. Parents need to
make sure they do not plan trips or doctor's appointments if at all possible
during these dates. These tests count 20% of the course grade for the student. A
plus to the date change is that EOCs do not overlap with AP Exams this year!
Shout out to FBLA!! On Jan 12, 36 members of TCHS FBLA participated in Region
Competition. Students competed in both individual and group events. “We are
so excited about this year’s competitors. They are a very young group but are
very committed to FBLA. We know their hard work will pay off,” commented
Mrs. Thompson, FBLA Co-Adviser. “We are so proud of everyone and excited
about what the state competition in Atlanta will bring.” Six of the competitors
placed high enough at the Region level to move on to the State competition in
March.
The top 10 in each category were recognized at the Region Awards
Ceremony. The results were as follows: Introduction to Business
Communication (State Qualifier): Odalys Garcia – 7th Place; Introduction to
Financial Math (State Qualifier): Odalys Garcia – 5th Place; Spreadsheet

Youth Tour was inspired by former president Lyndon Johnson who, in 1957,
encouraged electric cooperatives “to send youngsters to the nation’s capital
where they can actually see what the flag stands for and represents.”

The competition is open to all high school juniors who:

Fri,3/30/18 – Deadline to submit Community Service Hours –
Students might want to be filling out the log sheet to see if

Service Cord. Doing this will allow them to know how many
hours they still need to earn and the amount of time they have to earn those
hours. Students can pick up log sheets in the Guidance Office and can also be
printed from the TCHS tiftschools website from Student links. Contact Christie
Fletcher with any questions: christie.fletcher@tiftschools.com
