I told myself that in order to accomplish this I would have to work long and hard because dropping from a best isn’t easy. It is even harder to do when another sport ‘comes into play. This goal was relevant to me because I wanted to prove to myself that I could push myself and accomplish something that shows I can do what I put my mind to, In the beginning of the six weeks I was running around mid 22s. By the end of the six ‘weeks I was still running around the same times with small improvements. The comparison between the beginning and end was pretty similar proven by my pace. On the other hand, my mile time did improve after the six weeks of training. My goal of running under 22 minutes was not accomplished. I believe there are many factors that affected this. One of the factors was starting to train for the swim season towards the start of the project. I also think I didn’t give myself enough time. IfI could do it differently 1 would go easier on myself and understand it isn’t easy to go a best time, I would also change some of the workouts I did. Some seemed that they didn’t do much to help me reach my certain goal. I thought the six week “Plan for Success F.LT.T. Calendar” was very helpful when trying to complete my goal. It served as a good outline when I was working out and needed another exercise to do. I also liked referring to it so I could see what I wanted myself doing at a certain point and checking if I was where I had planned to be. liked the Activity Logs because it was useful planning what I needed to do throughout the week. Keeping track of everything I was doing actually kept me motivated. It was also nice to compare what you did one day to another day so you wouldn't do the same thing over and over again. ‘The major challenge I faced was trying to juggle all the things in my busy life. I found it hard somedays to make time to run and workout because of homework. It was also hard trying to run while my swim coach was preparing me for swim meets. The only thing I would do differently is choose a better time in the season to go after my goal From doing this project I learned several things about goals and myself. I realized that goals are a good way to get yourself working hard, I also learned that some goals take more time than others and that it is alright if you don’t complete them. I now know that if I want to drop time I am going to have to really push myself and train myself in other areas. I found this project very useful and eared more about myself as an athlete.
