 Our focus at the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee has been to create a unique and welcoming
Super Bowl experience that offers something for everyone while showcasing all of the reasons that
make Minnesota the best place to live, work, and play.
 As you prepare your visit to Minnesota for Super Bowl LII we wanted to provide as much information as
possible to help you tell stories about football, entertainment and so much more that Minnesota has to

MEDIA PARTY @ MALL OF AMERICA
On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, the Minnesota Host Committee will invite 5,800 media from around the
world to the Bold North Media Thaw.  Attendees of this annual media party will be encouraged to brave
the north inside the nation’s largest indoor entertainment destination - Nickelodeon Universe® at Mall of
America®. This memorable party will entertain guests with 28 thrilling rides and attractions, dining
options to satisfy every craving and local live entertainment – all to kick off a spectacular week in
Minnesota!  Event time 7:00-10:30 p.m.

We invite members of the media to sign-up for a host of media tours designed to showcase life in the
Bold North including:

 SUPER BOWL LIVE PRESENTED BY VERIZON – MAP

 SUPER BOWL LIVE PRESENTED BY VERIZON – MEDIA LOGISTICS AND KEY INFORMATION
 Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon will open daily starting on Friday, January 26 at 4:00pm through
gameday on Sunday, February 4. The event — free and open to the public – will stretch six blocks on
Nicollet Mall, from South 12th Street to South 6th Street. The free, 10-day festival will have something
for everyone including food, fun and nods to winter that showcase Minnesota’s authentic, Bold North
brand, including larger-than-life ice sculptures, warming huts, ice bars and winter sports and activities.

MEDIA LOGISTICS
 Credentialing: You will not need a Host Committee media credential for Super Bowl LIVE. Your NFL
Media Credential will grant you access to use of temporary media risers. 
 Media Risers: Limited media risers will be available on first-come, first-serve basis for temporary use.
Basic power will be available. No wifi will be available. No satellite truck parking is available. Media Risers
will be located:   
 10th Street and Nicollet (Outdoors) - (Power as requested (4- 15Amp 110/120V Outlets) 
8th Street and Nicollet Mall (Outdoors) – (Power as requested (4- 15Amp 110/120V Outlets)
 Dayton’s Media Riser (Indoors)* 
 *NFL Network's media riser, limited use to others as available outside of NFL Network hours

Scissor Lift: There will be two scissor lift locations for (1-2) media members at a time to get aerial
shots of Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon. No power or wifi available. Scissor lifts are located:
1) near the corner of 6th and Nicollet
2) near the corner of 12th and Nicollet

Verizon Up Stage at Ice Mountain Concerts: Due to space constraints, dedicated media space at the
concerts is unavailable.  Broadcast quality footage will be available to all news outlets for download,
free of charge, at a link that will be sent to credentialed media. Footage is provided courtesy of the

EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT AT SUPER BOWL LIVE PRESENTED BY VERIZON

Free Concert Series at Verizon Up Stage  


The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee (MNSBHC) has enlisted Grammy-winning producers Jimmy
Jam and Terry Lewis to curate 10 days of free music on Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon. Daily
line-ups and schedules will be organized largely based on music genre, such as country, rock, gospel, hip
hop, reggae and soul. Highlights include an evening of music honoring Prince on Monday, January 29.
‘Prince Night’ performers include The Revolution, Sheila E. and Morris Day and the Time and other artists
with professional ties to late Minnesota-born icon. Dozens of other national and local Minnesota artists
will perform free music daily at Verizon Up Stage at Ice Mountain on Nicollet Mall at 8th Street on Super
Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon. A schedule, which continues to be updated, can be found here:
 mnsuperbowl.com/sblive. There will also be free, indoor activities and fan engagement opportunities at
the site of the Dayton’s Project on Nicollet Mall throughout the festival.
 The Bold North™ Zipline
Visitors and residents will have the chance to soar across the Mississippi River suspended 100 feet in
the air on the Bold North™ Zipline, a feature attraction for the 10 days of Super Bowl festivities. Fun
seekers will thrill their senses by ziplining 750 feet from a launch tower on Nicollet Island to a landing
tower across the Mississippi River. The Bold North Zipline will open on January 26 and run daily through
gameday. For more information and FAQ about the Bold North zipline, visit boldnorthzipline.com We will
be setting aside specific times for a limited number of interested media to preview and ride the Zipline
before it opens on Jan. 26. If you are interested, please e-mail Cassie Batinich at

Winter sports and Bold North activities
 The American Birkebeiner International Bridge (Birkie Bridge), an iconic centerpiece of North America’s
largest cross-country ski race held each February in Wisconsin, will be constructed on Nicollet Mall over
9th Street for the 10-day festival. The nearly 200-foot bridge will be the site for cross-country skiing,
skijoring and fat tire bike racing that visitors to Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon can witness daily
for free.

The Polar Plunge on Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon
 Special Olympics Minnesota, in partnership with the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee are inviting
visitors, Minnesota residents, businesses and athletes to participate in a Polar Plunge on Tuesday,
January 30, at the Verizon Up Stage at Ice Mountain. The Polar Plunge, Special Olympics Minnesota’s
signature winter event, is centered around participants jumping into a body of icy water and raising
funds to support more than 8,200 individuals with intellectual disabilities across the state. Only 200
spaces are available for the general public; to reserve a spot, candidates must register on line at
plungemn.org by January 5, and raise at least $150.  
Interfaith Gathering
The MNSBHC is partnering with the Downtown Congregations to kick-off Super Bowl week with an
Interfaith gathering to celebrate unity and shared purpose. The gathering will be held at Westminster
Presbyterian Church on Nicollet Mall and 12th Street on Sunday, January 28 at 2:00PM. More

 The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee's Kids Tailgate Party
The 52 Weeks of Giving legacy campaign will culminate with a special celebration for kids in Minnesota
who have been a part of the year-long effort. The Kids Tailgate Party is a family-friendly event that will
feature healthy snacks, fun, activities and special surprises for nearly 1,500 children from across the
state who were part of the year-long legacy effort. The event will be hosted at Target Center in
Minneapolis on Wednesday, January 31st from 2-4PM.  For more information, please visit

 Additional Entertainment
 Each night, Native American groups from across Minnesota will “drum down the sun” as an example of
how the MNSBHC will showcase the diverse community and culture of our thriving state during our 10-
day festival. In addition, local Super Bowl dancers will perform multiple times throughout each day on
Super Bowl LIVE.

Polaris Snowmobile Jump
Watch professional snowmobile athlete Levi LaVallee and many other snowmobile superstars put the
“Bold” in Bold North at the Polaris Upsidedowntown on February 3, 2018 from 10AM – 10PM. Polaris
Upsidedowntown will include snowmobile stunts, meet and greets with snow athletes, giveaways and
other outdoor fun in the Bold North. The snowmobile stunt show will take place at 1:30PM, finishing with
Levi Lavelle signature backflip jump over Nicollet Mall at 11th Street. More information available here:
