1. Material Selection 

 
2. Corrosion protection of flange adaptors shall be a thermoplastic or thermosetting pure, high 
build epoxy lining which is non‐toxic and meets W.H.O. (World Health Organization) potable 
water standards. The dry film thickness shall be 305 microns. 
3. All bolts and nuts including washers shall be Stainless steel conform to ASTM A473, Type 316.

Max Temperature: 42 deg C. 
Max working Pressure: ‐16‐Bar 
Gland Rings, Sleeve: Rolled Carbon Steel 
Sealing Ring: Neoprene 
Bolts & Nuts: Stainless steel conform to ASTM A473, Type 316. 
 
1. The flexible coupling shall be sleeve type. 
2. The couplings shall mechanically engage and lock grooved pipe ends in a positive coupling and 
allow for angular deflection and contraction and expansion. 
3. Material for detachable flexible couplings and flange coupling adaptors shall be the same as that 
for steel pipe and flanges. 
4. The internal and external protective coating system shall be factory applied fusion bonded 
epoxy in accordance with AWWA C213 or polyvinylidene followed by field tape wrapping or heat 
shrink sleeves.
