1. Isu / masalah / peristiwa

The issue that I encounter this week is my students are still not talking in
English which is so demotivating. I have tried to do reward system in motivating
them to speak in English but its failure still.
2. Pandangan dan perasaan terhadap isu / masalah / peristiwa

I have implemented a rule which is, the pupils have to speak in English
during English lesson, the pupils are not following the rule because they could not
speak in English and if we force them to speak, and they will be passive and remain
silent throughout the lesson. They are in standard 1 and it is important for them to
speak in English.
3. Analisis isu / masalah / peristiwa
3.1 Punca / sebab

In my opinion, the problem occurs because students’ family background and


the opportunity for them to speak in English is less. Most students get confused
with English grammar, while grammar is very needed to form a right sentence. If the
students do not have grammar mastery, of course they will not be able to produce
sentences that grammatically right. Realizing that the grammar students have is
very weak, so they feel embarrassed when they want to produce English sentences
orally.
3.2 Kekuatan / kelemahan
The weakness that I found in this issue is that, the pupils are not trying
their level best. English is very important for every individual as it is International
language and to be honest, they need to know how to read, write and speak in
English so that it will be easier for them to survive in other countries when they
further their studies. Besides, it also helps them to communicate with other races as
well.
4. Cadangan idea untuk menyelesaikan isu
I will incorporate the activities that will require them to speak in English. It will train

them further. It is considered necessary for me to force the students only to speak
English during the class. I should convince all the students to be brave to speak
English, does not matter if they have very bad grammar.

I will solve as soon as possible I could

6. Pelaksanaan langkah-langkah penambahbaikan

I will convince the students that making errors is a normal thing in learning. This way
will raise students’ confidence to try to speak English. It will be better if I don’t give
correction every time the students make errors, but I should give feedback and give
explanation for every error after the students finish their speech.
