Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
The first hour starts with a reminder of the last week’s content. An infographic with pictures and job names is
hung on the board. The new vocabulary is shown and described by mimicking and drawing by the teacher. After
a pronunciation exercise, the pictures on the infographic are covered. Students are divided into groups of five,
and given a copy of the infographic without the pictures on it. Pictures are given separately and students are
asked to match the pictures with the names as a group. While the students are doing the task, the teacher
observes them. In the end, the answers are revealed. In the second hour, the group members are chosen
randomly by the teacher. Each group is given a pocket full of folded papers on which job names are written.
Group members determine a narrator. The narrators pick up one paper and do not tell what job it is to other
members. The other members are to make inquiries (where the person works, what he/she does and likes) and
try to guess the answer in a limited time. They get points whenever they find the right answer. The team who
gets the most points win. After this information gap activity, they are given a worksheet including
a matching exercise, and the students are given corrective feedback. Then the lesson ends, and the infographic
is hung on the wall of the classroom in order to reinforce peripheral learning. If a student is not able to
participate in the activities due to any emergency, he/she will be evaluated by a different exercise next week.
