PROBLEM OF EDUCATION IN INDONESIA

Education is the gateway to a better life and the provision of someone to pursue
something that is targeted. And education is the most important thing in life, because with
education we can all learn about science and add insight that we have. Getting a decent
education is a right for every Indonesian citizen. Because with a decent education it is able to
bring the country towards a better, as we know that the success of a country to promote its
country can be measured from the progress of education of the community.

Speaking of education in Indonesia, will not be separated from the thinking about the
education crisis that caused the global economic crisis that occurred. The soaring cost of
education makes children with poor economic conditions have a disadvantaged fate as they
have to drop out and work to help with the work of parents. This is a big problem facing
Indonesia, because with the increasingly rampant education crisis will make Indonesia
increasingly underestimated by other countries. Many school dropouts have become
understood and as if the government is allowing children not to get the right to feel learning in
school. Factors of education problems diindonesia is the economic crush of the family. The
high cost of education today makes the parents resigned by not sending their children to school
because they do not want to get cost problems. What about School Oprasional Assistance or
BOS provided by the government to the school? Not enough to help Indonesian children to
attend school. BOS that is not well targeted in its use greatly affects the fate of children who
are in the family where their economic situation is not good enough.
In addition, the lack of equalization of education in Indonesia is still not maximal. Facts
gained in the field are still many remote areas in Indonesia that received less attention from the
government on the distribution of education. One of the areas in the spotlight is Papua.
Nationally, the province of Papua ranks the lowest quality of educational outcomes, especially
in the interior. This is proof that the government has not fully worked out in leveling the
quality of education and clearly makes the children living in the depths do not mended
pematkan maximum education so that new problems arise about the education gap between
regions.

The next factor is the lack of education facilities and infrastructure. As we know, many
unused school buildings have to be used because there is no place to study. Fields that are still
muddy if exposed to rain, lack of textbooks in the library, even worse school does not have a
library as a bank insight students. If the condition is so, how can teachers teach maximally if
only rely on some books as a source of teaching? Improper physical condition of the school is
able to influence the teaching and learning process, damaging the child's concentration so that
the material delivered is not caught properly. Another problem is the low welfare of teachers in
various regions in Indonesia. The wellbeing of a teacher can affect its performance. In this
period, much of the teacher's welfare is unnoticed. The case that we often hear is the salary of
teachers who are not given and rely solely on the seikhlasnya contributions from his students.
While not making salary a priority in teaching, the right should still be given. A teacher can
teach well and instill good things to his students with enthusiasm.

The above problems prove that the government's attention in the field of education is
still very minimal. Not only the government, but all elements of society are responsible for
participating in improving the quality of education and helping solve our educational problems.
Thus, Indonesia is able to compete with developed countries around the world. It is hoped that
the government should oversee the BOS funds used to reach the right target and the central and
local governments are responsible for fulfilling the right of teachers as educators who are
assigned to teach, especially in areas that are difficult to reach. Because their welfare becomes
one of the important factors in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. While the
importance of education should continue to be given to Indonesian children of school age so
that they become concerned about the achievements they can and will achieve. If an awareness
has emerged about the importance of education, it is not impossible to improve the quality of
education in Indonesia. No more cost reasons, lack of government attention, unprofessional
educators and no students who are lazy to learn.

Understanding Education. Education is a conscious and systematic effort to achieve a


better standard of living or progress. Understanding education according to the Law
SISDIKNAS no. 20 year 2003, is a conscious and planned effort to realize the learning
atmosphere and learning process in such a way that learners can develop their potential
actively in order to have self-control, intelligence, skills in the community, spiritual strengeth
personality and noble character. Broadly speaking there are two solutions to overcome the
problems of education in indonesia are :

1. Systemic solutions, ie solutions by changing social systems related to the education system.
As is known education system is closely related to the applied economic system. The
current system of education in Indonesia is applied in the context of the economic system
of capitalism (mazhab neoliberalisme), which is principled, among others, to minimize the
role and responsibility of the state in public affairs, including education funding.
2. Technical solutions, ie solutions related to technical matters directly related to education.
This solution for example to solve the problem of teacher quality and student achievement.
In the effort of equal distribution of education, serious supervision is required by the
government. Supervision is not only in the area of education budget, but also in the field of
quality, educational facilities and infrastructure. In addition, the expansion of learning
opportunities at higher education level is an important policy in education equity.

Education is a provision to pursue all that is targeted by someone in his life so that
without education, then the logic of all that dreamed will be very difficult to be realized. In
fact, it is not all educated people who are successful in their journey of life, but when compared
they are much more educated than others who have never tasted education, both formal and
non-formal education. Education is a tool for self-development, mental, mindset and also the
quality of one's self. If people who have provided science alone are still there or even many
who have failed, then what about those who are not equipped with science at all? The logic is
certainly they will be more difficult in developing the things that interest it with the aim to get
a better level of life. The life process requires a theory, and with education the theory can be
obtained.

Do not believe in the opinion of a group of irresponsible people. Whatever the reason,
everyone still needs education. Although education does not guarantee a person's success,
education will provide us with a better quality of self that will be more likely to get what you
aspire to. Education is the most important tool for realizing all dreams.
