INT. MORTUARY. DAY

INTRO

LEO is examining a pretty beaten up cadaver in the

mortuary.

LEO
What a fucking mess
(He says, exhaling in
disbelief as he uncovers
the body)

Prepping his instruments, LEO prepares to carry out the

post-mortem. An unidentified caucasian female lies cold
and lifeless upon the autopsy table. Covered from head to
toe in gruesome wounds, it's hard to imagine this woman
was ever alive, her once pure, soft skin is now cold and
grey in colour, littered with injuries. LEO walks around
the body, taking pictures of every wound.

Setting down the camera on the side, LEO picks up a

dictaphone a begins to reel off his findings.

LEO
Major discolouration and bruising
to both antebrachial, and around
the head, chest and neck area.
(Look at each body part as
he mentions it)
Superficial injuries to the
frontal, definitely due to impact
considering the excessive
bruising surrounding the wound.
On closer inspection the cause
almost certainly being struck
with a log or branch of some
description.
(LEO exclaims as he
extracts a fragment of bark
from her forehead)
Minor ocular trauma
(He says whilst briefly
shining a torch into the
eyes)
and no visible injury to the
neck, thus ruling out
strangulation.

(LEO walks to the top of

the body. )
Major blunt force trauma to the
top of the head, some extensive
cranial shattering. Potential
cause of death. Patient appears
to have been struck by a blunt
object, however size and shape of
the injury does not resemble
anything I have seen before.

Pressing the stop button, LEO sets the dictaphone aside

and proceeds to cover the body.

INT. STAFF ROOM. NIGHT

LEO has been examining the death of this mysterious woman

over the span of a few days now, he'd typically be on to
a new case by now- but there is something different here.
Becoming rather frustrated at his inability to have the
slightest idea of what caused the fatal injury, LEO is at
a loss and reclines on the sofa of the mortuary staff
room. It is rather late in the evening now, and no one
else is about.

LEO is lying there looking through the pictures he had

taken of the body. A few seconds later his phone rings.

LEO
Hello?

DETECTIVE INSPECTOR MILLER

Leo, any update on that poor
lass? Its been a few days son and
we still don't know nothing.

LEO
I still believe the cause of
death to be the trauma to the top
of the head- blunt force trauma.
But the strange thing is, theres
absolutely no traces or residue
in the wound and the size and
shape of the wound is completely
new to me. Without any evidence
of the killer on the body, the
only thing that could lead us to

LEO (cont'd)
him is the murder weapon- had any
luck on that front?

DETECTIVE INSPECTOR MILLER

We've searched every inch of the
area the body was found, but as
your team and mine have reason to
believe that wasn't the location
the woman was killed, we don't
have a location of the murder
itself. And without a location,
we ain't found no new evidence.
If we find the weapon, it'll lead
us to the murderer, but in order
to find it- we need to start
where the murder took place, but
we don't know that, so we can't
find the weapon. Its a fucking
mess the whole thing Leo mate,
there's to many loose ends. We're
at a loss son we need your help.

LEO
I found some debris in a
superficial wound earlier, I
think it may be tree bark. I'll
run some tests tomorrow- might
help us find the murder location.

DETECTIVE INSPECTOR MILLER

Nice one lad, I'll be in
tomorrow- make sure you've
something good to tell me. Tara
mate. Keep me posted.

Its about 12am at this point, and completely exhausted

from this mind boggling case, LEO drifts off on the sofa.

INT. STAFF ROOM. NIGHT

(LEO is still asleep at

this point)

Tossing his head from side to side turning in his sleep,

the cushion LEO's head is resting on is soaked with

on his face as beads of sweat drown his pale complexion.

EXT. FOREST. DAY

(VT of dream sequence)

An unidentifiable man is taking pictures of the dead

women in an eerie forest.
(She is still alive at this
point)

Making her pose in a questionable manor- he has her hands

bound together behind her back and a dirty cloth gagging
her mouth. A young, vulnerable women, a sight for sore
eyes. Her hair and skin a filthy mess- this woman has
been held against her will for some time now. The man
looks down out his camera to admire his pictures, and she
seizes the opportunity. Beginning to run, her feet a
flailing beneath her, she can't quite steady herself to
begin with as her hands are still restricted. The man
looks up from his camera instantly and runs after her-
chasing her like a greyhound would chase a hair. The
woman stumbles and falls to the ground. Scrambling to get
up she manages to find her feet again- but not quite fast
enough. The broad silhouette of the man catches up with
her. He strikes her on the head so hard with the corner
of his camera. She falls to the floor- lifeless.

INT. STAFF ROOM. NIGHT

Seconds later, LEO sits up in a flash- waking from his

nightmare. Wiping his sweaty brow he falls back down on
the cushion.

INT. MORTUARY. NIGHT

The camera LEO was using earlier to take pictures of the

victims injury is still sat aside in the mortuary- the
corner scuffed and damaged...
